Experience please.

I have been sober for 6 months and had a slip up 8/8. I had 3 glasses of wine and a shot after being sober 6 months. I got a white chip and have started over. Well I was required to take a Peth test 8/22 14 days later. Do you think this would show up? I know it says 3-4 weeks for heavy drinking, but it was one night w 6 months of prior abstinence.

PLEASE do not respond with a lecture or anything besides experience with Peth testing. I know the mistake I’ve made and am already really beating myself up

Relapse happens so no lectures from me. Still I can't comment on PETH tests as they weren't in use when I was in the program. All you can do is wait and see what the test shows. Did you inform your case manager of the slip?

My name is Stephanie. I am in the pharmacy program in Pennsylvania. I have taken the peth test And failed it last year but I was on a cruise and did not even know what a peth was..

With what you're drank I think you're going to be OK. If you haven't drank before that ... I am in an ugly situation myself. I have to take another peth on Monday.. Long story. But I would love to talk to you. No judgment here believe me believe me

ahhh been there done that. I was still doing OTC stuff like listerine etc. I did 1 night have a half a glass of wine.. like weeks before I was picked to test. Tested, came positive. They called, I said no etc. They made me do the peth test, and it still showed slight slight small small amounts of alcohol. I did tell them about the listerine, they lectured me and told me how I promised I wouldn't do that anymore etc. However, they deemed me as negative and I took my jail out of free card and moved on. It really just picks up multiple times of binge drinking. Just be prepared for it show something, because it will. But have something prepared. I dont want to tell you to lie or do something you aren't supposed to, but if you are really still struggling reach out to your sponsor. If you get out of this, and they deem you as negative, take this, learn from it and beat this programs ***. Its your life, your license at the end of the day, something you wanted to do with your life. You can do this!

Ah thank you. Can’t believe yours came back positive weeks later from half a glass of wine. Can I ask what state and program you were/are in?

Cando in Arizona. yeah, I was nervous of course. It took about 5 days I believe and the "MOR" calls you around 4am (well AZ time) and likes to ask you random questions when you are still half asleep

It is my understanding that Peth won’t pick up the small amount of alcohol you drank. I just took a peth test and I was nervous. I didn’t drink at all and I was stilll nervous as heck. The only way I see through this program is strict compliance. No lecture here!!! We are all human and most folks in recovery have a relapse at some point but ours has very draconian punishments attached. I pray that all goes well for you

I am in the program for opioids. I had a couple drinks last week and had a positive etg for low levels so I had to take the Peth test. I’m scared to death now. I don’t know why I had the drinks. So stupid! I read it picks up only heavy binge Drinking and I didn’t do that. What are my chances?

What happens if the PEth year comes back positive?

How many days after drinking did you test? Was it just one night of drinking?

i still haven’t got mine back it’s been 6 days

I had two drinks is three days before the teat

Three days before test

Just one night with two drinks. Also, the girl who collected for the test did a sloppy job.. she stuck my finger twice and never filled the five circles with blood. The circles were only half full and that’s after touching my finger to the same circle over and over. I read that that should be insufficient
