Hello,
I am sorry to bother all you OB-Nurses with a personal question, but I am confused. Yesterday, I had cramping all day, menstrual like cramps. They were not painful, just uncomfortable. Also, had bad heartburn and some nausea. The cramps are gone, but heartburn and nausea are still present. I am due on 10/12/04, but I don't see my Doc again until 10/13/04. Is this my body getting ready or do I have a bug?

Any concerns like this, especially this close to your due date, require a call to your doc. You would need to be monitored and checked to see if it is labor.
congratulations and good luck!

Please call the doctor NOW. You could have complications from PIH. PLEASE do it NOW!!!
Thank you for the replies. I am going to call rightnow. I will keep you updated!
I am home from the hospital. Nothing at all going on. BP is good, I am not dilated or effaced at all. I guess my body is just getting ready!

Although I'm a doula, and not an RN, my first thought was that your body was just getting ready to do it's thing - what it was designed to do. Remember, despite what we see on TV and IRL, birth in and of itself is not an emergency. It's a natural process and not all complaints are emergencies. It's just part of the natural biological process.
That being said, if you were one of my clients and you called me with that, I'd probably say the same thing. Check with you PCP. It's always better to be on the safe side.
That being said, just relax, your body is just getting ready for the big event. Be extra good to yourself and we'll be thinking about you.
Take care!
