Pensacola State College PSC Nursing Spring 2020 January

Published

Anyone out there hoping to be accepted to PSC January 2020 spring term? I spoke with an advisor and was told they will be accepting students, and sending out acceptance letters mid September or early October. I am just going to take a chance that there are others out there like me who are both excited and nervous to start nursing school next term.

Let's use this opportunity to discuss how many points we all have, what chances we think we stand getting accepted this term, what program you are trying to get into (evening or day), and to let others know when you have received your letter so we know to check our pirate mail/mailbox!! I know I have a million questions, so if anyone has any info they can share, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck :)

Yes - this is a basic rundown. Your overall GPA, and pre-req GPA are seperate. (4.0=4pts 3.0=3pts and so on)

HESI scores in each category/not overall score- (90+=4pts, 80+=3pts and so on)

I believe that is it. I had 24 points. 4.0 GPA's =8pts and the other 16 came from my HESI.

Okay thank you so much!!

Hey, how are you, do you mind if I ask you how much points you have? I have 21 points and still waiting for getting in program.

Hi I’m honestly not sure at the moment because I haven’t had my transcripts sent over to PSC yet and I’m retaking the HESI next because I didn’t do well on the Math portion.

Based on what I heard, 21 points is the average number people have. If you have 50 people apply with 21 points, I can see how hard it would be not get “waitlisted” - if that is even a thing. How did you do on your HESI? I had 24 points, and 18 came from the HESI. One of the admins at the Warrington campus told me my points were competitive, but I could afford to retake the HESI to raise my A&P score. It was my lowest, and I made an 80, but heck no no NO! I wasn’t going to put myself through that again. I kept my 24 points and prayed real loud that I would get accepted.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this, but I was able switch to the day program. I offered my spot to someone who may have originally wanted evenings but couldnt get their pick - so, who are my day people!!!?

Anyone have any issues with their castle branch stuff? I was so organized with submitting my information, and they still kicked back like three things to be corrected or verified. And those fingerprints! The machine wouldn’t accept half of my prints and I had to press my fingertips down like a gazillion times before I got good reads.

I just sewed my patch on my scrub top! That made me feel like I was in the home stretch and it made me feel a little nervous for a minute or two. How many of you purchased the nursing top with the zipper?. I tried on a small and medium - turns out I needed a “smedium” but they don’t carry that size. I settled with the white scrub top and had to purchase a patch.

anyone doing only ebooks? Anyone from Gulf Breeze?

Thanks for your information. I have a plan to retake the Hesi. I just got 87% and I think I need to increase my score. Thank you again and good luck for your nursing program.

I just got accepted this afternoon. I got a phone call right before they closed for the break. I'm so excited. I have an online orientation so it's kind of hard to understand everything with just reading and not able to answer questions. Do you know where I can do my CPR and does it have to be completed before the first day of class?

IM in the day program too! I used CamScanner for my CastleBranch stuff but I still need to do my CPR. The uniform tops suck. I’m normally an XL and I had to get a 3X in uniform tops. Can’t wait to see all you guys on the 9th!

I’m not sure when you will need to complete by, but I am assuming you have a Bitof a grace period to complete since you were just accepted. Congratulations by the way!!!

i went to the AHA website-menu-CPR and then was able to search for a testing site in my area. There’s quite a few of them in p’cola. I found one in Gulf Breeze. It took 4 hours, costed be about $80 plus $20 for the book and got my card within minutes after passing. Let me know if you need any help!

Hi everyone. Il be doing the nights program at PSC, and was wondering in anyone else here is doing nights too or days lol! Here's my email, im not sure how this site works or if it notifies me of responses. [email protected]

Also they have a free CPR class in foley. Does anyone know if it will suffice the requirements?

Congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to everyone still applying.

NOTE: Online best page on FB, Quizlet, hesi A2 apps, and even elementary grammar books helped me pass the test.
