Pensacola State College PSC Nursing Spring 2020 January

Published

Anyone out there hoping to be accepted to PSC January 2020 spring term? I spoke with an advisor and was told they will be accepting students, and sending out acceptance letters mid September or early October. I am just going to take a chance that there are others out there like me who are both excited and nervous to start nursing school next term.

Let's use this opportunity to discuss how many points we all have, what chances we think we stand getting accepted this term, what program you are trying to get into (evening or day), and to let others know when you have received your letter so we know to check our pirate mail/mailbox!! I know I have a million questions, so if anyone has any info they can share, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck :)

Congratulations, good new on weekend. I hope I will have acceptance email for May.

Congratulations, is it for night or day class? I hope I will be accepte for May...

Hey everyone, I know we are all knew to the discussion, but if you could hit the quote button when replying that would be awesome! that way everyone knows who is replying to who. It gets a little confusing when there are random replies not tied to anyone specific. you can always delete the quote within the reply if that bugs your or if the replies start to get too long...OR you can put their name in the reply so we know who to look back on. Thanks!!

With that being said - CONGRATULATIONS to all who have been accepted. I can't wait to meet anyone who will be doing the evening program - so far I have not found ANYONE who will be in my class :(

Got my acceptance into the daytime program! Anyone know if we have to wait for the orientation packet to register for classes? I noticed on my spyglass when trying to register it says department approval is needed but that some students are already enrolled into Intro and Pharm for next semester.

We don’t register for classes they do it for us.

I did get accepted for the evening program! I got an email, but nothing in the regular mail. I guess since I accepted the spot online there was no need to send paper acceptance letter.

The more points the better, but I think you’ll be okay with 21! good luck!

Could you tell me how points are calculated??

Yes - this is a basic rundown. Your overall GPA, and pre-req GPA are seperate. (4.0=4pts 3.0=3pts and so on)

HESI scores in each category/not overall score- (90+=4pts, 80+=3pts and so on)

I believe that is it. I had 24 points. 4.0 GPA's =8pts and the other 16 came from my HESI.

SOMETHING I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY - THEY DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN BACK IN THE LAB WITH YOU AT LABCORP FOR YOUR DRUG SCREEN!!

I'm sure that sounds obvious to some, but I have always put my kid in a stroller and brought her with me for every lab I have ever done, so I didn't think it would be any different for simply peeing in a cup. I was in a pickle until I got someone to watch my little one for 5 whole minutes!!
