Anyone out there hoping to be accepted to PSC January 2020 spring term? I spoke with an advisor and was told they will be accepting students, and sending out acceptance letters mid September or early October. I am just going to take a chance that there are others out there like me who are both excited and nervous to start nursing school next term.
Let's use this opportunity to discuss how many points we all have, what chances we think we stand getting accepted this term, what program you are trying to get into (evening or day), and to let others know when you have received your letter so we know to check our pirate mail/mailbox!! I know I have a million questions, so if anyone has any info they can share, it would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck :)

I wish I could start this Spring but I have to finish college algebra this semester. I am shooting for the summer term. Good luck to you though.

I emailed them and was told that the first round of acceptance letters were sent out yesterday, October 9th, 2019. Another round of letters are to be sent out in the next 10 days. I have 24 out of 28 points and did not receive an acceptance email yesterday. I finished my prereq courses in May 2019 but did not take the HESI until Sept. 2019. So I wonder if I took it too late to get into the spring. I really do not want to wait until the summer or later to start. I applied for the daytime. Anyone out there receive a letter? How many points did you have?
I received my acceptance letter for the evening program yesterday via Pirate mail. Maybe I'll get a hard copy as well via regular mail. I applied for daytime and evening program. My preference was evening, but I never indicated on my application that I had a preference.
I don't think you missed the deadline to get in this term. I read somewhere online that they accept applications up to the start of the semester. So, if there's a spot, you should be able to snag one. especially with your points. I also heard they go through like 4 rounds before filling up the classes. A lot of people defer their spot or drop out of the running all together for various reasons.
I have 24 points, I think. My situation is quite different because all my pre-req's were taken 10+ years ago and they didn't count towards my current overall GPA or Pre-req GPA. The only thing that counted towards my GPA were my micro-biology and nutrition because I took them last year. Keep me posted!! Even if we get different programs, we can all be a great help to one another throughout the whole process!! Good luck

I'll be applying some time next year, but have some co-requisites, like ENG and Human Growth & Dev., that would be about 10 years old by the time I apply. Do you know if those would be accepted or will I have to retake them?
They won’t count towards your overall GPA or pre-requisite GPA, which will work to your advantage if your grades were any less than a “B” in those classes - they will go towards meeting your program requirements, though. You shouldn’t have to take them again!

Hi, I actually got accepted for LPN program at Pensacola State which starts Spring 2020, I was notified October 10th via Piratemail and was told more information following orientation would be sent by email in 4-6 weeks! I took the HESI for the LPN program and scored 80% on reading and Vocabulary and barely passed Math with 67% with 3.0 GPA. Wish you the best of luck !
Congratulations!!! I’m not sure how different the HESI exam is for RN vs LPN - but either way I can vouch that it was a test I never want to take again (yet, I hear from other nursing students that there are many more HESI tests in my future).
As soon as orientation begins we should definitely discuss the processes involved - like where everyone is going for immunizations, CPR certification (I went ahead and got that knocked out before the hectic holidays kick into gear), background checks and all the other details we may find a little difficult to line up!
Feel free to keep posting any new info you get via the department, or anything you hear from other nursing students that will be a help to all of us newbies.

Hi, Did you guys get the accepted email for RN in PSC on January,2020 yet? I hope all of you got it. I am trying to apply for RN on May, 2020, but my score just only 21 points.Do you guys think I have a chance to get in the RN in PCS. I asked the counselor in Warrington campus and he said the points between 19 to 25 will be safe to get in the program, but I know the other student has 20 point and couldn't into the program.

I did get accepted for the evening program! I got an email, but nothing in the regular mail. I guess since I accepted the spot online there was no need to send paper acceptance letter.
The more points the better, but I think you’ll be okay with 21! good luck!
