Hello,
I passed my Hesi-A2 and have been informed that I am scheduled to start the nursing program at Pensacola State College in May 2016. I wanted to reach out and connect with anyone else that might be starting the program at the same time. Also, if anyone that has already started the program can offer some advice or insight about how the first semester is would be so much appreciated!
AllyAnnie2115, I would definitely tell you not to stress yourself over the hesi a2. It's a lot more general knowledge than you'd think. However, I do highly recommend studying- just to ensure a higher score and a better chance of getting in without having to retake it. I used the hesi a2 admission assssmnt exam review (sold in PSC bookstore as well as online) and it went over *almost* every subject perfectly for me!! The only other thing I recommend is to just study your anatomy notes or book saved from class if you have it because the review book doesn't quite cover a&p as much as it could. All the conversions you'll need to know/study are in the book. The math is very basic but the book is a good little brush up. I also recommend knowing all of the vocab in the book because it was spot on and almost exactly what was on my vocab test. Good luck, you'll do fine
Thanks for the advice jbm1135. You should be graduating next month, how exciting! I'm just beginning my nursing school adventure as you're ending yours. The road ahead of me looks very long right now, did it go by faster than you thought it would? I wish you all the luck in your nursing career!!!
Hi studentnurse.moe! I wanted to check back with you since you've started the nursing program PSC. How's your first semester going? I start next month, I'm so excited! Is it super overwhelming? Any surprises you might want to mention that you wish you'd known about? Thanks for any info you might want to share.
@jbm1135, I applied to start the RN program fall 2016. I'm getting a little nervous because my husband is stationed at Eglin AFB which only really allows us to live in crestview. I can take I-10 to the college but it's still an hour there and an hour back and I'm getting a little nervous about the stresses of the nursing program and then having to be so far away from the college. I was just wondering if you could tell me how many days a week I would need to drive to Pensacola and if it is a smart idea to add an hour drive there and back everyday with the added stress of nursing school? And of course anything else you could tell me about the program would be awesome, everyone I've talked to hasnt been able to give me any information regarding the program.
There were several people in my class who lived even further than that. If I had that drive, I would actually use that time to listen to lectures that are recorded or just use it to listen to music and relax. The days at school are usually 2-4 depending on the semester. Some semesters you only have one class and some you have two so it depends. Btw I have a new small female uniform top if you or anyone needs it. I will give it away.

I was also wondering about conversions?? Should I study those as well?
