  1. Hey, you said you lived in crestview right? If you want I can meet with you and get you caught up. I will also be in the Wednesday and Thursday clinical group. Ms. McNair is the one who is going to have to register you for classes but if you are coming to class on Monday you have a lot to do and I don't want you to fall to far behind just because you missed Friday, so I can do my best to show you everything I can with the information I have.
  2. Congratulations! They said they were going to call about three people from the wait list, and they already had a person that was called in just the day before so I knew you would make it! I'm so happy for you!!
  3. @ahefner, you need to wear your uniform. It says in the packet that the first day of class is our first clinical. Plus I was already told by Kathy that I needed to have my uniform for the first day when I went to get all my paperwork so I know we will be wearing it on Friday.
  4. I'm not sure. Like she said it could be a mistake or something we just don't understand. Just because we know where we were on the list in the beginning doesn't mean we know what happens as people drop out of the program; that's why I called so much. My friend told me that 2 people didn't show up to the orientation which should have moved me two spots down but when I called the next week after the orientation I had only moved down 1 spot, so maybe the list doesn't work exactly how we think it does! I really hope you get in!! Someone could still drop out and the two people ahead of you could have something else going on and not want to do the program anymore.
  5. @Kr69, don't worry about bothering her, she's super sweet, I was number 10 on the wait list and I called her every single Wednesday and Friday all summer long. I just got the call on August 4th that I was accepted. She was so excited for me since she knew me because I called so much, she gave me a big hug. So don't worry about being a bother to her because she doesn't mind, she's rooting for you. And also if you were 12 and I was 10 that means that you would be number #2 now.
  6. Well I've never taken the LPN test so I'm not sure how similar they are. I'm sure if you type in LPN test into the search engine on this site there would be a ton of helpful forums that people have created when they were going through the the process of applying for the LPN program. And I have have never attended PSC, I applied to NWFSC and I am on the waiting list for their nursing program so Pensacola is my back up school if I don't make it into Northwest. I'm hoping to start this fall.
  7. Just make sure that you really brush up on your fractions. Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions will be very important for the HESI math portion! But I'm not sure if we are talking about the same test here, the only test I've ever taken is the HESI A2 exam, I've never taken an LPN test or anything.
  8. The book I used to study for the HESI was called Admission Assessment Exam Review, Edition 3, by Elsevier. It's a great study tool because the book is made by the company that creates the questions for the HESI test, and it is almost an exact replica of what the test will look like. There is also an app that other people told me about after I had already taken the test and they said it was really helpful as well, I guess you would just go to the App Store and look up HESI A2. If you do get the book it is great for preparing you for every single subject except for the anatomy, definitely go online and try to find other resources for the anatomy portion. I just looked over my old anatomy notes. I scored Anatomy: 84 Grammar: 88 Math: 90 Vocab: 92 Reading: 94
  9. Thank you so much for replying. Taking that time to listen to lectures is a great idea. And it is a relief knowing I won't have to go all 5 days of the week every single semester, that will save on gas and time. It's also nice to know there are others who live further away.
  10. Hi everyone, I've applied to Pensacola State College 2016 fall Nursing Program. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there that has also applied for this program. I don't know much about the program and I would love to discuss it with someone!
  11. @jbm1135, I applied to start the RN program fall 2016. I'm getting a little nervous because my husband is stationed at Eglin AFB which only really allows us to live in crestview. I can take I-10 to the college but it's still an hour there and an hour back and I'm getting a little nervous about the stresses of the nursing program and then having to be so far away from the college. I was just wondering if you could tell me how many days a week I would need to drive to Pensacola and if it is a smart idea to add an hour drive there and back everyday with the added stress of nursing school? And of course anything else you could tell me about the program would be awesome, everyone I've talked to hasnt been able to give me any information regarding the program.
