Pensacola State College Nursing Program 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I passed my Hesi-A2 and have been informed that I am scheduled to start the nursing program at Pensacola State College in May 2016. I wanted to reach out and connect with anyone else that might be starting the program at the same time. Also, if anyone that has already started the program can offer some advice or insight about how the first semester is would be so much appreciated!

I have a Saunders NCLEX book that I used to learn how to answer questions and also study for NCLEX (altho I used UWORLD more for NCLEX). Would be happy to give it to anyone who wants it. I'm in the P-cola area.

I start the RN program at PSC in January. I would love your NCLEX book if you still have it available? I am in Gulf Breeze but can meet you wherever is convienent for you.

Yea that's cool with me! PM me and we can figure it out.

Thank you for the offer. I just signed up yesterday though and can't PM until I have 15 posts. I will try to get that many quickly and then contact you.

I've been looking for some insight and advice too, mainly to calm my excited nerves lol. Glad to see that the first semester isn't as crazy as I imagine...

For me, as far as books go, I went ahead and bought the book package like the orientation recommended. pls1103, I'll try to give you more info after the semester starts :)

I would have bought the box set, only I am paying out of pocket for them, so I bought the ebook set from a student that graduated a year ago since it was cheap. It is one of those things where you gotta do what you gotta do I guess. What day do you start? I start on the 7th!

Yea I understand completely, it was very expensive for the set. I start on the 7th as well, nights and weekends!

Ahh! Congrats on the nights and weekends spot! I am in the day program. I wish I would have chosen to night program when I applied a year ago just because it makes it easier employment-wise. Nonetheless, it will be worth it in due time. Are you nervous? I know I am! O.o

Thank you and congrats to you on the day spot! Yay!! And yes I'm SO nervous... I mean I feel as prepared as I can be, but I'm just so anxious to get started and see how everything will be.

Hello! I'm getting ready to take my HESI A2 entrance exam for PSC. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips for the HESI here? I've read way too many reviews on books. Some say the Mometrix is the worst book, some say its the best. Some say the Elsevier one is the best, some say it isn't. I'm so lost on what exactly to study! If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

Just know your general anatomy and make sure you can multiply, add, subtract and divide fractions! I almost aced mine and never looked at a study guide! Also, spelling and grammar is a big part of it! I finished mine in two hours=p Take your time, and relax! You got this!

Also, you can download a hesi a2 app and it gives questions similar to the test! Be ready, nursing school is a whole different animal compared to what you are used to. Just in my first week and I have already put in over 20 hours of study time!

Thank you!! I really think I'm over stressing a bit lol but good luck with your nursing classes!!!
