Hi, I can't find a job in the Philly tristate area. I'm thinking about applying to Maryland hospital. I would hope to just work 3 days and commute. How far would you guys commute for your first job? MD is about 90 miles from Philly

Specializes in Trauma Surgical ICU.

I travel about 52 miles one way and it is rough but doable. The drive home after a long night shift is the worst and at times dangerous. 90 miles is a bit much but in these times, we do what we have to do. Is it possible to stay, work your shifts then come home. Several friends that live farther than I do, do this.

Thats what I plan to do, work and then come home

I think we might all be thinking twice about how far we are willing to travel, I have something set up with a place that's going to take me and hour and half to get to but it's a hospital and great experience and I heard it's a really good place to work at.

Is it out of state> and when do u start?

I have an interview setup with them for in January, it's not out of state. I just submitted my stuff online and then got an email the next day about transcipts and letter of reference and probably in about a week got a call about when their group interviews were starting and got the interview time and day. It just stinks with Temple to not even get to the submitting paper work part let alone an interview and yet on the phone they make you think not to worry you'll hear from them. I'd prefer the sorry about you weren't picked, and just move on. Do you know of any other classmates from La Salle that got jobs. I don't know of too many that did.

Someone just posted in the temple thread that they received a call that they were accepted into the program, so that means that they didnt send out rejections emails and they hired new grads already. when did u grad lasalle, i finished this past may. I only know about 4-5 classmates that found jobs in hospital, 2 were cnas at their hosp and the 2 others had cna experience elsewhere..UOTE=missy32;7072631]I have an interview setup with them for in January, it's not out of state. I graduated in May of this year too but from the Newtown campus. I only heard of a few classmates getting jobs also. The Temple program just bugs me, like I just called and the lady I was talking to was like they group people and contact them that way and then put me to someone's voicemail that does handle the program but you can't even leave a message because it's full but then it will put you to someone else voicemail so if I get a straight answer I'll let you know. I wonder is the first group the people that are CNAs there already, the two that posted haven't answered if they already work there or not.

Have either of you tried Lancaster? They have a great hospital and you can even take a train there....

I think that's like 2 hours drive for me, I'm in Levittown. Iridium have you found something yet?

A train from Philly???
