Penn Valley LPN enrollment with classes

I have been accepted into the Penn Valley LPN program for Spring 2014 and enrollment for classes starts Nov 4. The nursing department isnt very helpful with answering questions and just talks in circles. Do they enroll you in your classes or do they tell you what classes to enroll in?

I am paying with financial aid. I had to have advising change my graduation date and then the nursing program changed my plan of study for me. In regards to financial aid you have till nov 30 to get everything completed with them so that you can avoid that first payment on dec 15. Yeah they out everyone in an AA degree until your in the nursing program. You have to have the nursing department change your plan of study.

Thanks that kinda makes me feel better but one last question. So, does your degree progess tracking report now or Unofficial Transcript say Applied Sciences instead of Arts? Because mine also still say's Arts.

From the sounds of it, it sounds like they didn't switch my AA to an AAS.

Also, who did you talk to have the degree plan changed? I just started talking with ---- today & she's a HUGE help. I'm going to let her know about it first thing tomorrow morning.

im not sure where I find where they changed my degree plan at? I just met with advising and they told me they took care of things. Since I am in the LPN program, I have been emailing with ----------and she is the one who told me she changed my degree program. So i'm sure ------- or whoever is on the professional nursing side who enrolled you or told you what classes to enroll in is who would be the person to talk to about changing your plan of study.

my degree progress report says that too but ------ told me she was changing my plan of study and I trust her. If I run into any issues I know that she will take care of it and she would of also emailed me back if she had any problems. Thats how I knew in the first place there was an issue bc she was unable to initially change it.

Specializes in ICU, step down, dialysis.

K sorry Didi.

How long did it take them to change your plan of study? Like I said they finally picked out my classes yesterday sometime but these classes are enrolled under my AA degree, so I don't get any financial aid because I'm already above the 150% in the AA degree plan. I went to see an academic advisor & had them call them & they just told me they're still working on processing that switch-over, even though my classes are already picked out?! Grr, so confusing :S

Has your financial aide shown up yet too if you don't mind me asking? Just curious because I have the AA degree already & mine won't show up because I'm already above 150% & that's why I need them to switch me soon, so I can have financial aide recalculate my SAP under the AAS degree plan.

Financial aid told me that they won't start working on them till next week or so. I just know that they have to have your application for aid in by nov 30 to avoid having to make a payment on dec 15. I only get loans since I already have a bachelors degree. The lpn administrative assistant emailed me and said she was changing my degree plan so I assume if she runs into any issues with it she would let me know.

Also sorry about the names. Wasn't on purpose and won't happen again.

Okay thanks a bunch. Name things was my fault, sorry again myself.

Ya, my FAFSA is all done & everything which they already have on file. My adviser said if we don't have classes paid for by this Sunday as well that will get dropped but if that happens she said just re-enroll into the class until they get our financial aid / degree plan switched over.

Oh that's crazy. I was told by financial aid to just sign up for the payment plan which would secure my classes and that my financial aid should be in before my first payment is due. That's crazy that youll be dropped by Sunday if you don't pay. Too much uncertainty for my liking

If I don't see it posted or done by that date I may have to do a payment plan just so I can secure the classes, but you said that first payment doesn't come out until Decemember 15th too, right? If that's the case I may do that late Saturday night because I definetly don't want to lose my Human Developmental Psyc class because she's a great teacher that I've had before.
