Penn DNP-NA 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

To all the future SRNA's of The University of Pennsylvania 2018. A thread to assist each other with questions, preparation and ideas.

I'm still waiting on the PennKey set up info too. It said it should be about a week, but it's been about a month. I guess we're all just really excited. Hoping a year flies by.

I reached out to multiple people and they said it is likely admissions had not enetered me into the Student Record System and that once that happens, the set up code will be issued automatically. Advisor Kara Koch stated on may 1st that the university has not yet loaded students starting summer 2018, and that it should happen within the next few weeks ...

If anyone receives any further information or gets the pennkey please let me know! Thanks :)

I hope I can join you guys in 2018.

Hi, future SRNAs! Congratulations to you all on your acceptance at UPenn :) I wasn't able to attend the information session they held in March, and was wondering if there were any big take-aways from that, or more detailed information about the program in general? I have my interview there this week (so excited, SO nervous) and just want to know as much as possible about the program. Fingers crossed! Thanks in advance for your help :)

And another question... what made you choose UPenn over other CRNA programs?

Hi Shananigan! It looks like we follow some of the same threads here... how did you decide between UPenn and VCU?! Is there a way to private message on here (new to allnurses)!

I think you have to make 5 posts (maybe more?) before you can send a private message. Both have great programs, but I ended up choosing VCU for a few reasons. First, I live in VA so in-state tuition is around $70k for the program vs $200k at Penn. Richmond has a lower cost of living than Philly and VCU just started a "hybrid" front-loaded structure that allows students to work during the first two semesters if they choose to. I figured that would also help me limit the amount of loans I would incur, even if I just work part time. Also my husband used to live in Richmond, so having those personal connections would make relocation a little less stressful.

Hey everyone! Has anyone received their Pennkey yet?

No I still haven't Thinking maybe once the class is full they'll enroll us?
