Hi All,
I am in a residency program and am floating between 3 units I was allowed to request and actually got the ones I requested. After 3 months I get chosen for my permanent unit.
My first rotation is on peds. It is hard to get a job here especially since they just hired a bunch of new grads about 6 months ago on the unit and I'd like to do my best.
Would anyone please give me suggestions on how to make the best impression or what areas to definitely brush up on for peds specific please? I really want to make a good impression here.
My second rotation is the MICU. Again I would appreciate any suggestions for preparing for this unit also please. Many residents don't get any of the ICU's and I know it's a fortunate opportunity.
I really love this program because when I was in school I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, but then I wasn't so sure. I know though when I saw I got a chance at peds, I was so happy my eyes filled with some tears! Even if I don't get hired this time, I want to just do my best and be as ready as I can be and maybe I'll be remembered when there's other openings. And I'm also very excited about the MICU and maybe I'll think it's the place for me.
Thank you so much for anything you feel like suggesting!
