Pediatric Teaching Project - Need Suggestions

Published

Hello all,

I am currently taking Peds, and we have a teaching project coming up. The project has to be focused on a specific age group (teaching has to be appropriate to their developmental level). I was just wondering what topics (with appropriate age group) should my group do. I have seen on this forum ideas about handwashing and healthy eating. Any other suggestions besides these popular topics?

Thanks in advance.

We did coping skills for my project...we took all the kids and built coping boxes...colouring books, paper and pens, beads and string, nail polish etc. Something that they could use when they needed time by themselves. It obviously depends on the age group and population (our population was young teenage females with a variety of home and psych issues and it worked quite well.

Asthma is a big thing in peds. Teaching on how to use an inhaler would be great and life saving.

CASI-- another group you could hit up for the Mr. Yuk stuff is your fire department.. they always have them!
