Hi there friends and colleagues!
I would like to ask about Prentice hall's nclex-rn by Mary Ann Hogan (Pearsonvue), do you think this resource material would help me prepare for the nclex-rn exam? What about nclex-rn exam cram? Did anybody used this resources helped them? I just purchased these two books and they're very much overwhelming and very thick to read on. What can u suggest me to do inorder to go through these books? Are the questions in these books similar as the onces in the board exam? Just wondering. Thank you for your time to read on and answer my inquiries. Thank you.
Any resource properly used will help one to pass NCLEX. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Don't think about the entire book at once. Get a calendar and map out a study plan. Go over only a set number of pages each day, and only those pages. Taken in little bites the meal can still be finished. Good luck.
Hi there caliotter3! I surely appreciated your suggestion. Really, hogan's book is very overwhelming, and I believe you know that already. I'll surely try what you've said map out a calendar or something. I do wish I could get everything done and hopefully be prepared for the big day. I just purchased the ncsbn nclex-rn review online...i'm doing the assessment test right now. I'll head from there and see where I should layout my study plan. do you have any suggestions for me to go about my test plan?
I like Hogan...that is one of my study aids, esp since I do not have my Saunder's book, just the cd. I just did a 100 question exam using the Hogan cd. Overall, I think it breaks down things well, but just like any book, there are some things that I find confusing (see my post about Herpes Zoster). Also, I disagree with how the book instructs the removal of PPE when leaving a pt on isolation (it says gloves, mask, gown, then eye shield, but CDC says gloves, eye shield, gown, then mask).

Hi newaggiegrad09...i did notice that I was just reading that yesterday and yes..it was totally bizarre...don't know which one to believe. But overall, it's a very big book with bunch of info. based from the new testing blueprint...and the questions were sort of familiar...i mean i thought there were a couple that somehow were like the questions i had in my previous take of the exam..somehow it sort of does mimic the nclex-rn. Well, it should..right if it's made by pearson? what do u think?
Idk lol I have yet to take the NCLEX. Did you do the mock 265 test on the cd? I was waiting until next week to do that.
Nope i haven't taken the mock test yet. I just got the book last sat. from amazon. I just started going through some of the quizzes on it using the study mode. Maybe I should try the mock test first and see how I do, what did you do first? Did you like the book/cd? What are u using right now? When u taking your test?
