Part 1 (the original thread)--
Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?
Poll to take once you have received your response--
Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results
Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:
1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.
2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.
3) click 'register' on the right side.
4) click the 'credit card' link.
5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.
6) enter your username.
7) enter your password.
? click the button.
9) click 'register' on the left side.
10) select your test type.
11) click the button.
12) select your country.
13) click the button.
14) answer the yes/no questions.
15) select your country again.
16) select your state.
17) type in your city.
18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.
19) select your school.
20) select the month and year of your graduation.
21) select your board of nursing.
22) click the button.
Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick
Hey there all my fellow victims of NCLEX terror ! (I truly believe it is terror, if not plain torture to have to wait any length of time for the results of something we have suffered so much for already.)
I graduated in May from LPN to RN transition. Just took my NCLEX-RN on June 29th. The CAT test said I'd done enough at 75 questions, but I doubt its sincerity. LOL. I felt the same way 5 1/2 years ago when the NCLEX-PN cut off at 85 questions. (Yes, I passed, but those were the toughest 9 days of my life... until now.) I live in TN. We can do the quick results via phone or online in 48 hours. That will be at 0800 tomorrow morning.
Last night I couldn't sleep. (Imagine that, not sleeping the night after taking the NCLEX!) I kept waking up remembering one or the other of the questions I answered. I found this website and this HUGE thread. Although skeptical, I did try the trick and received the "good pop up". I told a friend that took the test the same day and had 120 Q about it. She checked and got the same thing. Good, right? Dear Jesus, I pray so.
I won't lie, I'm still skeptical because about 2/3 of my test was SATA, I had one ridiculously easy math question (really, the answer was 2 tablets), and the rest were multiple choice dealing with pharm, delegation, prioritization, infection control, and disaster triage (WHATEVER! That class wasn't even tested on at my college!!!) Even though I graduated Summa Cum Laude, got 99% chance of passing 1st time on ATI predictor test, and completed at least 5000 review questions; I feel that I wasn't prepared for this at all.
After reading all these posts, I know I'm not alone. Thanks so much for sharing your terror with a fellow victim. I will post if the "trick" worked when I receive my "unofficial" $8 results tomorrow.
Blessings!
So I took the NCLEX exam today and felt like I wasted all of two months studying as all of the questions were out of left field and I felt like I guessed on most of them. I just did the PVT and I got the good pop up so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. To future grads who will be taking this exam, I can only say, no one study aid or class will help you to study for this test. You have to utilize lots of the nursing process as well as a healthy dose of COMMON SENSE. Pass or fail, the test wasn't hard, it just required you going with your gut feeling and not changing your answers. Will let you all know, the end result.

Couldn't agree with you more..the test is very hard to study for!
Took my Nclex-RN on 6/28 in CA. Got all 265 questions. I got at least 23 SATA. I must be really bad on those. It took me 5 hours with 3 breaks. I had to drink coffee & take Excedrin on my 2nd break for my headache. Went home & logged onto the Pearsonvue website already. it took about 2 hrs to finally see "deliver sucessful". Got the good pop-up. Couldn't believe my eyes & redid it million times & it was still the same. Finally just see my name on the BRN websiteat 3a. Now I can finally have a goodnight sleep & do massive job hunting later today. Can't wait to get my actual lic.
Skeptical no more!!! I just paid the $7.95 and just like the PVT said, I PASSED! I feel as if I have decreased my risk of carpal tunnel syndrome since now I only have 2 initials to place after my name (once verified by the BON) instead of 3. LPN becomes RN!!!!! Thank you Jesus.
Word to the wise, you will feel like you failed no matter how well you've done in all the tests in your past. There is no real preparation for this thing. Just study a review book, do tons of questions, and most importantly... PRAY... A LOT!
Hello everybody! Just wanted to let you all know that I wrote my exam for CA onJune 15,2010. Then checked several times at pearson and got good pop-up and today on June 30 got my letter stating that I passed. I am relieved and happy!!!!
Good luck to all of you!
