Pearson Vue Quick results

Published

I'm just curious....is the Pearson Vue quick results that you have to pay for 100% accurate? I've been waiting for a few days for my license number to pop up and haven't gotten anything. Paid for the quick results and it said I passed. Want to be 100% sure before I quit my job!!!

Thanks!

Interesting question.

I don't think this topic has been covered, so you should get some helpful responses by starting this thread.

Quick results are accurate they only become official when the BON signs off on it.

Plenty of threads discuss this subject here

You're really asking two questions, without knowing it.

Pearson Vue has a fee-for-service, Quick Results, whereby you can pay $7.95 to find out the results of the NCLEX, and the NCLEX only. It will tell you if you passed or failed the exam ONLY, and it IS 100% accurate. You have, after all, PAID for the results.

HOWEVER, it is not a guarantee that your BoN will grant you a license. It is LIKELY, if you have been issued an ATT for the NCLEX, that you would get one. But if anything is hinky anywhere, if you are missing a single piece of paper in your file, that can and will delay the issuing of a license. MOST of the time not any big deal, but for some (and these people tend to know who they are!) there can be.

Beyond that, knowing you passed the exam has no bearing on when the BoN WILL get around to issuing you a license. They receive the results before you do, but doesn't mean they are jumping right onto your file to get your license number punched into the website.

Have patience, see what happens.....you passed (yay!) but I wouldn't go quitting a job until you have a license number, personally.

As RNsRWE said, the results of the test you pay for are 100% accurate. These results you paid for are the same ones Pearson Vue sends to the State BON you applied to.

That being said, if it said you passed the test...you passed. If it says you failed..you failed. The passing result does not mean you are 100% guarenteed you are now a licensed nurse. The State BON is the one who decides that.

Often it can take hours to days or even a week or better for some BONs to post license numbers. I got my quick results for my NCLEX-PN as a pass and it took the BON only to the end of the business day after the passing result for the quick results were available. Same BON took close to a week and a half to post my RN license number

Please wait to quit your job.....I passed nclex one month and didn't get licensed number for another 3weeks...needless to say I quit my job before I had my licensed and took another 2 months to hop through hoops of interviews and hiring process to finally start my nursing career...so if at possible wait to quit so you will have spending change for those new scrubs you will have to purchase! Congrats on passing your NcLex!
