The questions are soooo hard!

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.

The thing about LaCharity is it is displaying how complex the NCLEX questions are....they are not clear cut, and neither will the patients be at times. You will need to know MORE about the most important interventions, as well as the critical, but the key in providing safe, effective nursing care is KNOWING what are the BEST interventions. The questions on NCLEX will give you some very interesting questions, questions where you may be like "*****!?!" but once you look at the stem, it may say the MOST important side effect to report (I got several of these questions), then go from there in terms of teaching, anticipating potential risks, etc.

When reading the stem, find out what the question is asking you; say it is a medication question. You never heard if the medication; however, you may be able to find out why the patient is taking it within the question (autoimmune, neuro, respiratory, etc), you need to look out for side effects, however which one is the most important-meaning increase in morbidity or mortality that you MUST intervene in a timely manner before more complications occur? That's when you prioritize and use the tips they used. This actually happened when I took the NCLEX. Even though I did not know the medication, knowing those strategies, I felt confident in selecting my answer, and most of my answers.

Wow. You are amazing! I wish I asked this question sooner. My test is this week! I hope I can see the way you think by test day. Thank you!!
