PCC/OHSU/CCC/MHCC FALL 2019

Hi this is a general thread for this years nursing applications for the schools above in Portland,OR and surrounding areas for the FALL 2019/ WINTER 2020 Cohorts.

Post all your applications processes, questions, tips and tricks and good luck!

Anyone here get an acceptance from OHSU (or put on the alternate list) and also receive an acceptance from a CC?

How many points did y'all have for part 1 of the application?

Does your email say you're in the top 15 alternates?? If so, I wouldnt stress too much about it. Just show up if you fall in that category. Tge worst they can do is tell you you probably arent eligible, but then you'll know more of what you're getting into.

No, it doesn't say that I'm in the top 15. I did have 44 points for part 1 though, so I'm guessing I lost points at the interview!

Long time lurker here. I applied to: OHSU, PCC & CCC, had interviews at all of them. I did not get into OHSU and am a top 15 alternate at CCC. If I get accepted to PCC my first choice is CCC. Look forward to meeting some of you at the orientation!

Hi! How many points did you have for part 1 for CCC?

Here is a break down of my points; 4.0 (25), All A & P Completed 5, All prerequisites completed 5, prior degree 1, 5 discretionary points (Work in healthcare) Total points 41. This is my third time applying. I became a CNA2 last year to get more experience.

I knew that since I did not take my prerequisites at CCC I would lose some points and would need to do really well on the essay and interview.

I had 41 points going into the interview, so that may be where you lost points. Don't despair though! There's always a chance that you'll move up the slots over the summer. I hear stories every year about how people got in at the LITERAL last minute (like, the first week of the actual fall term) because of something happening. One of the charge nurses I work with actually got accepted to PCC the day before he was supposed to move to Grants Pass for school, and I already know of at least one person who got into both CCC and OHSU who will likely be going to OHSU, so there's always a possibility. Keep your chin up!

That’s what they said in the interview! I already know one person who got in at Clackamas CC and they are declining... so don’t give up!

Just curious if anyone was waiting or really wanting to go through with MHCC. One of my close friends interviewed with everyone including MHCC but accepted at CCC. Just curious since it looks like a lot of us have heard back from the other schools and was wondering if anyone had interviewed with MHCC and is going some place else. Im an alternate at PCC but MHCC is my first choice

I will be accepting to MHCC if I'm offered a spot. Since they seem to be the last school to give out acceptances, I assume that they will be taking a sizable number of people off the alternate list? It seems like a lot of people would prefer to go to CCC and PCC over MHCC.... Any ideas why?
