Hi everyone, I thought I would start a thread for all the applicants of the Portland, OR area that applied to the schools above. Who else applied ? :)
I applies to all 3 and am waiting for the hear about the 1st round around the middle to end of March. Fingers crossed, hope to make some new contacts, good luck everyone!
Ahhh I see. They definitely need to change the verbiage lol. I just thought maybe they had big class sizes!
Yeah it is a little deceiving. Oh, and if you haven't received a call from PCC yet offering you a seat, hang tight. They probably reached out to the exact amount of people that would get them to 32 and they "have three days to respond" according to what they said at orientation. I would assume there will be some no-replies and some declines but I would think the second round of calls will start going out tomorrow! (This is just my guess).

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm not getting my hopes up (and going to a CNA class orientation tomorrow), but it is nice to know it is not 100% over. Let's pray to our deity of choice for that extra staffer before September!
PCC in the fall qtr!Gonna try for PCC and OHSU again next yr. I am a bit sad for having to pay 2k bucks just to have a better shot at nirsing school
Is it hard to get into the CNA program? Any prereqs that you need to take outside of the nursing ones that we have already taken? And do they have one cohort each year? Or each term?

You don't have to go to a CC and pay that much. I did a small private class in Vancouver that was $1000 (still a lot) and i only did it because Clark requires it and i didn't get in, so I feel your pain lol.
Have you thought of doing EMT instead? I found it SO much easier to get a job that i actually enjoyed compared to CNA.

When I heard "80", I assumed it was including alternates in that figure. I don't think the facilities and the amount of staff could handle 80 admitted students starting in the fall. When I see them on campus at Sylvania, the classes look tiny. They did say in orientation that they are actively looking for another staffer so if that happens, boom! 8 more seats!
