PBSC Spring 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello! I decided to start a thread for those who are applying to PBSC for the Spring 2014 deadline.

I have applied and my application is complete! this is my 3rd time applying, so I am really hoping to make the cut this time around

Good luck to everyone applying!!

In the welcome packet it says to print out two "certificates" of each test. What exactly did you print out? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to print out the summary of attempts or if I am supposed to click on the GRADES button but it shows both tests together (three test options,) I did the one that say June 13- Feb-14; please tell me I did the right one not the Nov 12 to February 14. Anyone know? I don't want to mess anything up ahhhhh lol

I did the June 13-Feb 14 quiz as well. I don't think it matters.. they are both up to date ;) I also printed 2 copies of the grades page? It shows them both on there

Besides the 2 quizzes I have nothing done! I need to start asap though. Think I'm going to get the flu shot next week and try to get the background check on friday or something. Are there still spots open for CPR class?

I just checked and there are no CPR classes left! If you look at the email that was sent yesterday, Ms. B included a couple of places where you can take it

I didn't realize that about daylight savings, but I think that the time usually changes around 2am! So I doubt it eekkkk! Ill be on at 12:45pm lol.

Quick question, I just finished the Tenet Orientation and HIPPA Quiz, underneath that it says that we need to bring "Signed and Witnessed Ethical Agreement, and Health Science/ EMS Safety Disciplinary Procedure" do you know where to find it?

Yea its in our welcome packet

Yea its in our welcome packet

I don't see it there, the only thing I see that we are required to sign is the release of information form?

Yea its in our welcome packet

I found it! Its in the Nursing Handbook :)

Anyone know what the point cut off was for the LW and Belle Glade programs?

I think lw full time was 25.01

Bell glade was 24.25

Just to answer some Qs I saw :)

-Yes, online is harder and there is more work to do then if you are in class. However, I personally would not recommend it if you have never done it. They di a lot of group work in class, but at least there are people you can talk to and figure it out with. Online is usually out of the loop and asking lecture students for info. If you are a self starter and can figure things out on your own- online will work for you

-The quizzes can have all grades/attempts on 1 page. You end up doing that quiz every semester and bringing 2 copies. 1 to hand in, 1 for your portfolio.

-2 copies of the ethical agreement too. You end up doing that every semester as well

-frontloading is when you are paired up with a classmate and have to present a ton of new skills. They teach you them at your first skills lab day and then you are off to study. Its a lot all at once, but just practice and ask questions. Skills include how to take a blood pressure, tenperature, how to walk a patient, get then out of bed, roll them on the bed, etc.

-most semesters have started a private facebook page just for your class. Someone should do that. It can be extremely helpful for everyone.

Thanks for clarifying! Does anyone know if we just walk in to NMS or do we have to make an appointment?
