PBSC Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I see there are a bunch of people on the fall 2017 applicant page so I figured I would start the next one up. This thread is for everyone to ask questions and discuss the application to the program.

Good luck everyone!

I'll start by asking, does anyone know if there will be any more information sessions before the October 1st deadline besides the July 19th session?

Good luck with the re-evaluations! I'm submitting my application tomorrow.

Question. On the last page of the application, are the lines for Chemistry and Human Growth messed up for you too or is it just me?

It's messed up for everyone. I went and saw the advisor beforehand and she was shaking her head hahaha.

Lol ok, as long as it's still acceptable I'm good.

Do you guys know what I should put on the application, where it asks for a grade if I have taken a course in high school and passed the ap/ib exam, which appears on my transcript but does not really provide a grade?

Make sure you send them your AP exam scores directly!!!!! People in past years made that mistake and weren't accepted because of it. But I put advanced placement on the institution line and an S on the grade line. The advisor said it was perfect so I guess that's right??

ok yeah thanks i sent them a while ago and see them on my transcripts now. and okay guess i'll do the same just don't wanna mess up ya know?

Can you explain what course re-evaluations are?

I wouldn't worry about it. It will take them well over a month to get through all the apps.

Course re-evaluations refers to the process by which you are requesting coursework taken at another institution to be reviewed for credit. Many times there are courses that are the same in content, but different in name than the ones at PBSC. If you attempt to transfer credits from another school and some are not accepted you can request a re-evaluation. Usually, that just involves submitting a course description from the course catalog of the other school to demonstrate that the courses are essentially the same.

I submitted my application today. I feel a little queasy... :)

Hi there also applying for the spring program I'm not sure how many exact points I have but i think from 22-23 and it scares me to see that the cut off so close to my score. But i was just wondering if it's possible to apply to both the ft lakeworth program and ft belle glade program in hopes that one or the other could accept you?

The fall cutoff was 23.81 which was higher than last year's 23.18 for full time. Part time was 22.14 last year. I'm only at 23.1, but haven't completed A&P2 Lecture and Lab which I am currently taking. I am hoping for a conditional acceptance. If I don't get in I will have 27+ for next year. I really don't want to have to wait a year... fingers crossed for us all! :)

How do you know your total points? I calculated my points using the application but not quite sure if I'm correct. Do you get 4 points if you have a 2.5 GPA? What if you have more than a 2.5, are you awarded more points? Sorry may be a stupid question but I can ONLY do the part-time program so I'm a little nervous.
