PBSC Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I see there are a bunch of people on the fall 2017 applicant page so I figured I would start the next one up. This thread is for everyone to ask questions and discuss the application to the program.

Good luck everyone!

I'll start by asking, does anyone know if there will be any more information sessions before the October 1st deadline besides the July 19th session?

Ugh I'm sorry you just missed the cut off! Yes, I was accepted :)

Amos25 you made it! Congrats! I will now have an entire year off from school. Reapply for next year P/T. I will have my 3 additional points by then and applying with 26+. Hopefully, that will be enough... Seriously, though... anyone know why only 23 spots instead of 30???? I'm baffled.

Amos25 can you post what the range was for F/T? and how many they accepted? thx

Thank you!! Suzie Q 26 points should definitely be enough!! My email did not give me the range of points, but I will try to find out. For reference, I had 23.6 points. They accepted 93 students from a pool of 179.

Hey Suzie Q, apparently there were 26 spots from the applicant pool. 4 spots were repeaters/transitioners they said. Apparently 3 of the 26 are appeals waiting to be accepted or denied. It sounds like maybe some spots could open up, but who knows.

Ahhh! lls123 Now it all makes sense.... I heard that there were ppl who finished the LPN program and are doing the LPN to RN transition program P/T. They automatically get in first. I'm not sure I understand what appeals are about? Appealing what? their points? You may get in lls123.... keep us posted! Also JessWolf you may get in...

Also, I heard that in previous application cycles the school always sent an email out for those who didn't get into the spring program suggesting they do the LPN and then transition after that so I called. This year they were so far behind in the nursing dept with acceptances that they arent' offering it!!!! Deadline has passed for those applications (Nov. 1). Crazy!

What did you get on your HESI? Are you going to Apply for LAke Worth Fall 2018?

I did not get in.

I had 23.11

Minimum accepted was 23.58 for P/T

They said they had 71 applicants and only 23 open spots... ??

What happened to 30 open spots?

Congratulations to all of you who did get in. I will finish my pre-req's and apply in a year.

I'm thinking about transferring from Broward College could anyone give me an update on PBSC and how the program is

Hi~

I passed the HESI with 81 points, I think? I took it cold with almost no review and had never taken a few of the subjects tested (i.e. A&P, Biology, etc.). Also, I found out serendipitously that there were a few spots they held back for the P/T program for people who had started F/T the previous semester, but couldn't handle it with work/family commitments, so, they allowed them to enter the P/T program the next semester. I am now applying for P/T for Jan. 2019.

I believe there's one on August 16th
