PBSC Fall 2012 hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone!! I probably am jumping the gun by posting this already but I'm too excited and just can't believe I'm finishing up my last semester of pre reqs for the program. I take my HESI on Feb 16th. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone has also taken the hesi and what would be the best study guide to get. Here's to hoping for a great fall!!! :D

I already ad my hepatitis B series when I was lunge so my doctor did a titer for it and my other vaccinations. Thankfully I have health insurance so through my doctor the full physical was $30 copay. Titers ended up being eighty because I had to go twice. Tdap shot was $40. He charged my insurance for my PPD. If you can I would recommend going to a family doctor more than a MDNow place. I got my flu shot at MDNow but everything else I had my doctor for.

I found a website that says we can get all of our shots for $150. I'm going to go tomorrow morning to see if it's legit. It's mdlabtests.com. Anyone heard of that? I don't have insurance, do that looks like a grrrrreat deal. I called labcorps and they were expensive too - around 400 without the hep tests.

I just went to MD now on palm beach lakes and it cost me $190. I didnt get the hep b and I already had the Tdap shot. But I think they said hep. B is $80 for evry dose..

Anyone wanna try to do the CPR class together? Maybe we can do it at the paramount place that Mkearns mentioned. :)

I bought mine. I wear xs so I had to order the pants since they didn't have my size. They staff there know what you need. Just let them know your a new nursing student. The uniform is navy blue scrubs. The bottoms have a pleat in the down the middle of the leg lol they are tapered, not boot.

Yea I had a feeling.. I meant tapered not boot cut lol. Oh well :) thanx

I went to copys this morning, and the jacket you can buy doesn't even look like it keeps you warm :/ oh and I had her add everything up (2 sets of scrubs, name badges, shoes, stethoscope, and jacket) came out to a little over 300...

I would LOOOOVE to do cpr with someone ** ill look it up tomorrow

Everything has to be in by august 9th right?

Yes I believe that's what the packet says...

You don't have to get your shoes and stethoscope from copy's, and you aren't required to get the jacket, you won't want to wear it in the hospital anyways. And my clinical instructor was okay with us wearing normal jackets from the car to inside and just leave it with stuff inside, but that depends on who you have.
