Hi everyone!! I probably am jumping the gun by posting this already but I'm too excited and just can't believe I'm finishing up my last semester of pre reqs for the program. I take my HESI on Feb 16th. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone has also taken the hesi and what would be the best study guide to get. Here's to hoping for a great fall!!! :D

Got the welcome packet just besides through and am already confused about what "front loading" is? Can someone shed some light on what exactly that is

Anyone have a answer to this one, the drug screening needs to be sent directly from NMS to the nursing dept. How does NMS get the results??

I believe we have to go nms with that form to get drug tested. They will test the sample then send the results directly to the school.

Yep, just called them thanks. FYI, they said no appointment needed just walk in with form filled outand photo id. check and cash only.

Great! I'll get that done today. I need someplace for a physical....and a CPR class

Front loading is where you learn all the skills needed before you go into the clinical setting. Blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, moving a patient, etc. it's four days, you wear your scrubs.

Joannafiore where do you recommend get the titer/physical at? Do they actually have to test and see if you can lift 50 pounds? How much on average did you pay? Thanks..

I went to my physician for the physical and he sent me for titers. I guess it depends on the doctor if they check it. Between doctors, books, uniforms, good shoes, supplies, titers, stethoscope, in total I spent over $500, but I got Dansko's which are expensive shoes but both my sisters who are nurses swear by them. It was an expensive few weeks.

And I didn't even add in my CPR class or some other things. I had started a list but got depressed when it got that high.
