PBSC Fall 2012 hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone!! I probably am jumping the gun by posting this already but I'm too excited and just can't believe I'm finishing up my last semester of pre reqs for the program. I take my HESI on Feb 16th. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone has also taken the hesi and what would be the best study guide to get. Here's to hoping for a great fall!!! :D

Latisha says they received 260 something for lake work full time last application spring 2012. So about 1 in 3 got in. I think all nursing apparently go to that office so it includes lake worth part time too. Have hope!

At first I was thinking there was no way 70 apps was possible. But now that Irishblonde wrote that in spring 2012 there were 260 which also included part time...that makes it way more possible that 70 is a close to real number. Fall does not take p/t apps so maybe... it is close to 70. I forget the number of open slots. Does anyone remember?

I can remmember that full time LW is 100 spots, 10 for transfer (paramedics and LPNs) and 90 for generic RN. If my memory is right 30 for part Time. I was the last to take Hesi, and it said class average of 80, so making mathematics, 80% has 6 points + 10 nur requier/ + 2 area residency + 3 GPA aveg. Total minimum (for sure) 21 aprox. BUT the competency begins ... How many of the 80% has in addition points for: 1 critical thk, 1 for work exp? I think there is some few that has extra points for college edu. In short, the probability is that -80% has 23 to 25.99 points- Those who has 26 points and higher do not need to pray a lot, You should pray for us!!!!!

I hate this whole process. I am praying for everyone my points have been all over th board and you really can't tell right now what is really good enough especially if there are so many apps. If it is anything like last time then most of us if not all will get in based on what I've seen people say on this blog... It does feel better to know what other people have as far as points going in and hesi scores I know for myself when I getting ready to apply and applying, I scoured blogs for other ppls scores so for those who are applying and/or who going to apply we should all do a page with the amout of points we have for both applying and hesi..Overall I'm applying with 27.39 points(I have work exp. And crit thinking)My most recent hesi score 84.86

Ps where are those of you who have the fundamentals book buying it from? Has anyone bought it from amazon? if so what does it look like I want to make sure I get the right one online

I bought the Fundamentals book from the PBSC lake worth bookstore with my Financial Aid for the summer.

260 lake worth full time, NOT including part time*

I'm just trying to be positive, it doesn't hurt besides can help during the horrible waiting ;) It would be inappropriate if I'll say that the cut off is 29.84 as it happened 2 years ago

The cutoff was really high...but wasn't it a different test (NLN) and they counted sociology back then? I'm pretty sure that is where the difference in points happened! The points are generally lower than last year because of the changes.

And according to the hesi avg test score (80) it's the same as last application pool, so hopefully we get in! Longest 3 weeks ever! Deadline was yesterday so no more applicants

Good luck everyone! I hope you all get in. When I applied for last fall start (which I missed by .6) I found out I didn't get in on June 14th. However, for the January start it took until October 31st to hear, which was the most nerve wracking month of my entire life. Hope to see all of you around campus next semester! And some advice, keep up on the reading and if you're taking pharm this summer (or have before), you are ahead of the game, as pharm + nursing is killer. And keep up on your skills and don't put them off until the due date because it makes your stress level a lot higher!

I submitted my application on May 24th and I'm waiting on my points to be posted but I expected it would take a while. I am so nervous! I hope that they accept all of my application materials properly... At least we are coming closer to the end of our wait.

Congrats! You are already in there. Im trying for long time ago, but during the way my two daughters came, so home, babies, classes and nursing entrance exams....well... Thanks for your comment, it is very appreciated have a clue, but tell me, and be honest! Nursing is so hard as people says? or is more about conviction and dedication? I really want to do nursing, and Im pretty good student, but sometimes people scare to me saying that it is almost impossible handling family and classes. I know that nursing is hard but if you are good student and have commitment with it, well you doing well. What do you think? what about your experience?
