Hi! I see you're NC, as am I. Do you mind if I ask which part of the state? Because that will make a difference. Pay scales are pretty much based on cost of living for the area and what the other hospitals are paying. I'm in the Triangle area, and it seems to be around $18/hr now. There are some that pay more, like the VA.
Hope that's a little helpful!
Nice Christine!
I should clarify that the starting for new grads around here is about $18/hr. There are annual evaluation pay raises, etc. $24+/hr is pretty good.
It really does depend on where you live. You can always call the hospitals you're interested in (the nursing employment offices) and ask. I'm sure they get it all the time. Also, a lot of them have it on their websites.
It TOTALLY depends. If you have CNA or LPN experience, some hospitals are willing to pay extra for that, and others won't. Plus, the area you are in determines a lot of it.
If you are in NC, in the Greensboro/Winston Salem area, I know that winston salem pays better than greensboro. Greensboro starting pay is around $18/hr, and w/s is around 19-21/hr, depending on where you go, etc.
Good luck to you!!
