Looked on the site to see if this subject had come up recently and didn't see anything. How much should (do) new RN graduate make? I know this will vary from state to state, just wanted to hear some input. Also, if you have some experience as an LVN, will that increase your amount? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I am from CT and my offers as a new graduate BSN have been in the $25-$27/hour range (not including shift differentials) with sign on bonuses from $5000-$10,000 for a 2-3 year committment. From what I understand some of the hospitals pay slightly less for an ADN.

Hi, in Maryland on the Eastern Shore, our hospital is starting new RN's @ $21.05. This is before shift differentials, they also offer scholarship money and a generous sign on bonus. Hope this helps.
P.S. the rate is the same from BSN's and ADN's

I am from Nebraska. I think new grad RN's here are getting around $17-19/hour to start. I don't know of any place in the city I live in that pays more depending on your degree. We all take the same boards, right? Some places here will give you an increase in starting pay if your previous lpn or nurse aid experience is with the same company- and they now gain you as an RN.

I'll be starting at around $21'ish with my base + critical care pay when I graduate in Dec (I'll be in SICU). Some of my classmates have also already been offered jobs (where they currently work) and their pay is around $19'ish.
