Patient Care Tech Job Offer

I need some advice. I interviewed with a float pool nursing department for a patient care tech job that would allow me to float to multiple units and hospitals during school. I feel that it is a great opportunity but the woman who interviewed me mentioned that orientation is on Monday's and Tuesday's. I have a bulk of my courses on Monday's and we always have exams. I'm unsure what to do here because I really want the job but if I miss a Monday I could easily fail the quarter. In fact, all but one of my Monday classes are Monday's only. Am I able to negotiate different orientation dates or a later start date? The only breaks I have that have a Monday and Tuesday off are Christmas break, which I have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day off or my winter break which is only a week long and gives me 01/14 and 01/15 off. I really need help with this.

I think the potential for a big (huge) setback in obtaining your nursing degree out weighs the benefits of a decent part time job as a patient care tech.

If you can negotiate the orientation dates that is fine. But there will be other PCT jobs you can apply for.
