Hi everyone I'm new,
I've been lurking on this site for about a week now. I tried to create an account but I was forgetting something. I finally got it right and I am here. To get out of the nursing program at my school I have to pass the HESI with an 850. This test we heard about it but we had no hesi tests after each class was completed. I am used to answere NCLEX questions, hesi questions seem different. I have taken the test four times to no avail. I have to settle on a BS instead of my BSN until I pass HESI (it really sucks).
The first time I got a 799 two weeks later I retook it got a 790. I graduated on May 10. I took a 4 wk summer evolve remediation course (didn't helped). I prayed. I did all the tests on the hesi cd the first time. I practiced question after question from Saunders especially in the area I was week in I did all the questions the cd had in those areas. The next round the monday before class I got an 825 so close. Then I took it again Friday 779:bluecry1:. I don't know what else to do. Now I have to take another round of rememdiation and I have two more chances.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you studying from the HESI book? I used the HESI book and found it to be "right to the point." It made me study exactly what I might encounter on the test and took out any "fluff."

My advise for you, is to go over your content and basic skills and also know your fundermentals which i think will help a bit. Stay calm and relax your nerve!! wish you best of luck in your next test.
I have the hesi book. I read the hesi hints but only read the areas I was weak in. I guess I should read it from cover to cover.

Please tell me what is the Hesi book? which one and the isbn, name and author so that I can order it today. I start sep 1 for the two year program and I have to pass the hesi. we take it every semester till we pass.
I see from another post that Kaplan is the best source for the nclex so I will start it also asap!
I have been reading 30 chapters that we were told to read plus work book chapters to go with each of the 30 before we start the program. Plus other readings as well.
I am excited and a little scared because I was told how hard it was and so many people drop out the first semester. I have a book that has two cds on the different s1 and s2 heart beats but I cant hear it well. Tried it on my computer and also a cd player and its hard to hear them. Is there a good resource on like to be able to listen to them so that I will be able to know the difference between the different ones.
Also I am brand new on this forum so please tell me why I can not send a msg to someone. I had a question to ask someone but it wont let me.
Thanks for having this post and the others they are very helpful!

Site rules require you to have 15 or more posts before you can send a pm. You can however read any that are sent to you. e do ask that posts are useful to the site and not congratulations to someone that passed NCLEX. Posts we feel are just boosting post count to enable to send a pm will be deleted
HESI Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination 2nd Edition by Mosby Elsevier -ISBN_978-1-4160-4775-9.
Study your heart out. I mean, to the point where you get that feeling that says "ok i know this.." and then take the day before the test off to relax and do something very different from nursing. You'll pass :wink2:
I was so nervous but after I took the test and passed i thought to myself "well... that wasn't too bad"... now i have to follow my own advice for the nclex:D yikes!
