This is my first time ever posting on this site and a lot of the nurses and future nurses on here are really helpful with their nursing school experience and nclex experience. So I decided to share what my experience was in hopes to help someone. First, I still can't believe i passed nclex! Second if I can do it YOU can do it!!
In nursing school wasn't one of those students who made A's I was mainly a C student with a few B's here and there (very few). I graduated in december 2013 and took the nclex march 3. I didn't buy or participate in any classroom reviews. I brought a Kaplan book, a saunders book and our school gave us this hesi/saunders online review for nclex practice stuff. I studied a good 6 weeks prior to test day answering at least 50 questions a day and no more that 150. I read each rationale and jotted down a few in my handy dandy "nclex notebook" and I would go back and read what I jotted down so I could remember as best I could.
Honestly, what I found was Kaplan REALLY teaches you strategies on how to answer nclex questions. It was good at helping me decipher what the question is really asking. Between knowing how to answer the questions and doing as many questions as I could it really helped me with nclex. I got 200 questions on nclex and the screen shut off. I felt SICK! I didn't think I did good at all. It took me 4 hours after I got home to so the PVT and....I got the good pop up. Im still in awe. I keep doing the pvt to make sure lol.
So my best advice is don't get caught up on the computer not shutting off at 75 as long as you keep getting questions your still in the game. Keep doing your best! Questions, Questions, Questions! The more you do the better. Stay positive and last but not least PRAY! It got me through. God has brought us all this far and He will not turn us away now.
