  1. I just want to know how it is as an OR traveler. I feel med surg is med surg no matter where you go. Is it the same for OR travel as well ?

Afternoon All, I’m a circulator currently with 2 1/2 yrs exp. 5 1/2 yrs total. I was a med surg nurse before moving to the OR (I traveled as a med surg nurse as well) I was just wanting some insight from other OR travel nurses about how it is traveling in the OR. I’m about to start looking for assignments soon and I just wanted some insight. Thanks
  3. Hello, I too am a new grad who work nights and I just finished my 6 weeks orientation a few days ago. I work at an urban hospital downtown and the pt acuity is high and its faced paced. So I must say I feel the EXACT same way. I make silly mistakes and feel like I'm not smart enough and I get so overwhelmed. And just when I think "okay my night is going pretty good" something happens to smack me right in the face and throws everything off. From what I hear it gets better and better, and God am I hoping so. I've had moments where I wanted to break down and cry and one time I actually did. Sorry I don't have any advice I'm still trying to find my footing myself, hopefully it'll get better for the both of us. Keep me posted.
  4. I wish I had some advice to help you with your situation. I'm sorry to hear about this. It seems like you made a simple mistake that didn't warrant you getting terminated, with 13 years experience I would assume that would speak for itself. I hope things work out for you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
  5. retrivergirl OMG!!! I'm so happy for you!! You def deserve this!!!
  6. yayyyy! you deserve it!!!!
  7. congratulations! thanks for sharing, so proud of you...
  8. Hello, I took nclex mar 3 and I as well everyone in our position freaks out!! But you'll be fine. Just make sure you do as many questions as you can and read each rationale even for the ones you got right. For my studies I used my Kaplan book, Saunders book, and our school gave Hesi/Saunders review material. I found Kaplan helped me to answer nclex style questions and with the more questions I did (50-150/day) the better I got at answering them. I mainly used saunders for content on the subjects I was a little rusty on. And little prayer never hurt nobody. Good luck to you!
  9. thats awesome congrats!!!
  10. I used power points from school for EKG, that was only thing I found that broke it down in simple terms for me. Hopefully with all this waiting theres good news to come Retrievergirl
  11. Keep your head up. You can do this...just remember we know more than we actually think we do. I would advise you to do as many questions as you can reading each rationale and even writing them to remember better. Good luck sweets!
  12. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  13. Thanks guys! I had about 25-30 SATA, 2 Math, about 10 ekg strips, 7 or 8 pharm, 1 drag and drop, and it pretty much touched on everything we get in nursing school. Peds, OB, psych, med-surg etc...
