PASSED FCCA...now stuck

Hi everyone. Well I got my PASS from the school and wanted to apply for the CPNE today. Turns out my CPR is expiring in June. I go to ProCPR online and they issue me my card. Is this acceptable? It follows the AHA guidelines, so I assume it is valid for EC. Also, I have no clue how to fill out the background check so need to call on that one. And need my TB test done asap. (it's due in July) Will they accept a license picture as the "photo" for applying? I chose 8/31 as my date in either Syracuse or Albany. I got to the payemtn plan and almost died....it's all setting in now. I'm both happy and nauseous!! :barf01:

Dammit, so does this now mean they won't give me a date until my CPR is updated and I have paid for 3/4 of it? That probably won't be for at least 3 months?? I'm kind of ****** now. I couldn't pay for it all at once. Maybe I'll change my payments to 4 from 6, but jeez. Oh well, I'll just start studying as if my date is 8/31.

I lost a month applying for CPNE waiting for my CPR test out. I did the online exam and a nursing supervisor at work was suppose to test me out at work (free of charge to hospital employees) but I showed up 3 times to do the test out, and each time she couldn't find the keys to get to the dummies out of a locked closet. I gave up on her and finally called the local fire hall and tested out on their mannequins/instuctor. It was a nightmare, I was trying so hard to get done so my cpne application would be complete, so yes....not until your current. But didn't you say you are current right now, just due to expire in June? That should make your application complete, just try and find a place that you can test out before your current card expires.

Agree with the above, if its current now, thats all you need but go ahead and schedule another CPR class before this one runs out so you can update it when needed.

I agree also it will be fine, I'm the same boat. My CPR also expires in June. My FCCA is in the mail and I am sending the card I have to complete my CPNE application and next month when I renew , I will scan the new card to EC and remain current for CPR requirement. :)

Yes,my CPR expires in June and my PPD isn't due again until July. I will probably just get that over with this week at work, and the next CPR class at the FD isn't until June anyway. I'm hoping it all goes through and I get some sort of date. I applied for Albany and Syracuse!! Getting excited!! Now to start a workshop and order my skills kit!! Did anyone order a skills kit from EC? I want the whole shebang....:) Thank you for all the words of wisdom as always!!! :heartbeat

Hi Chris,

1) CPR as long as it is BLS for healthcare providers AHA u r good to go

2) If you plan to be ready in August I think you should put July 31 instead so you could possibly get a day in late Aug to Sept

3)Pic - u r better off spending $5 and getting two forward facing passport sized pix

4) Background check - there is a link on ur "My details" page at the bottom where it says CPNE Documents, go in there and follow that link and if I remember correctly it is $12 for NPAC, I think it is certifiedprofile.com or org

If your card expires before your 'ready to test' date it might not be accepted, I would say scan it in anyway but know that ur app will not be complete until you scan the new one in. BTW, if u chose a ready to test date of July 31, know that if they give you a date like Aug 14th for eg and you think that's too early u don't have to accept it, just call NPAC and ask what else is available.

Dont worry, EC will give u a date as long as all docs are in, even with just the initial down pmnt of $600, it's for second and third time testers that they won't give a date until 3/4 pmnt is in....trust me, I know! Still waiting for my date but final pmnt will be made on 4/20 so i'll keep u posted.
