Just passed my last nursing theory exam LS3. I only used StudyGroup 101. The practice questions and exam flash cards on SG101 were very helpful when talking the exam as well as the practice exams through Excelsior. I would suggest printing out the information off the CD rom, it makes it easier to study. LS3 was the hardest (I think it is for everyone) , that was the only one I failed but when I retook it a month later i got a "C". You just need to group all the diseases into sections in a notebook or on flash cards. I passed by looking up information online as well, like animated videos and pictures of the diseases and illness. It makes it easier for me when I can picture what I am studying and learning about. I am not a good test taker, but it can be done! It took me 4-8 weeks to study and take each test while I was working a full time job. I would not recommend using the College Network. I had a friend that bought it and it was not much different then the SG101 info, except that it cost A LOT more money!
I'm about the start the FCCA and I'm taking both classes at the same time. Should be done in 2 months. The FCCA is completely online and you DO NOT go to a Pearson vue center while taking these classes. The 2 courses are each about $185.00 as of 2014. Basically the FCCA is an online clinical assessment preparing you for CPNE. It will have audio files you will have to listen too, images and etc. as well as modules due each week; then an overall test the 8th week. I'm getting the FCCA SG101 study guide. I just wanted to let everyone know my experience from the past year and a half of completing my nursing theory exams. Hope this helps anyone interested in Excelsior or who's just starting! Good luck and I will update this once I complete he excelsior FCCA, then on to the CPNE!! :)

Cori001 congrats. And keep up the good work. I'm on essentials reproductive right now. I didn't realize they changed the FCCA to online instead of pearson. I did this through college network big waste of money. Wish I had known better, Good luck. Keep us posted

Do not underestimate the FCCA.

Congratulations! I am a little late on this post. I am finishing my last nursing theory class next week and am getting ready for FCCA. Just wondering how it went for you. Excelsior does not give much information until you have completed the nursing theory classes so I feel like I am flying blind here. Did the SG101 for FCCA help you at all?
JailNurse71 oh my gosh I know! I spent so much money on college network and it was not helpful at all, definitely threw away 3 grand, what a waste. How are things going for you with excelsior? I am finishing up my last class before FCCA.
