Hello, everyone. I passed the cardiac medicine certification (CMC) on 2/1/2023. I used Nicole Kupchik's CCRN and CMC review courses exclusively to prepare. I wanted to come back here and share my experience as I found very little information and resources about the exam when I took it. Ask me anything; I'm glad to help!

Did you use any test bank for the CMC certification?
I purchased the AACN CMC test questions; I think there were 150. It was $30 or 35, but I only did about 75. I did the questions on Nicole's CMC review course/ book. I did not find the CCRN to be challenging. However, I'd have to say the CMC was a little tricky for me, LOL.

Did you find Nicole's Kupchik review really helpful? I got the CNEA CMC book because I saw someone recommend it LOL. Thanks and congrats on passing!
I thought it was helpful, but I felt her CCRN review (cardiac and hemodynamics) was better. There's also a CMC review on YouTube about valvular disorders that I listened to. You got this!

So do you think if I only buy the kupchick CCRN review course it would be enough for CMC review? Or I need both courses? Does her courses include test banks? Or only 100 questions?

Do you happen to still have access to it and willing to share? My Reddit is the same as my handle here if you can't reach out on here

I only have general tele experience, not particularly specialized in cardiac units and I recently moved to the ED and have not yet started my training on trauma/critical care. I have my PCCN. I signed up for the CMC mostly to review my cardiac stuff and decided to take the test so I'd have a deadline and motivation to study but now that I'm reading up on other people's experience, I'm wondering if I bit off more than I can chew? Especially since the questions are all based on pathophys and treatment. Do you think I dug myself into a hole? If you didn't have ICU experience and just went into the test with your tele experience and studying, how do you think you would have done?
I apologize for the late response; I hope this reaches you quickly. I have my PCCN, CCRN, and CMC. I have tele and step-down experience and have only been in a medical ICU for two years. However, I felt that the CMC was hemodynamic- heavy if that makes sense. I think it is still possible to do well on the exam with tele experience; you must gear your studying toward hemodynamics, etc. I hope this helps! I can answer any more questions and also
I also saw that someone was asking about CCRN and CMC resources. I have the books and I'm actually trying to sell them. Please let me know if interested! Thank you.

I passed CMC yesterday! I utilized the AACN CMC test questions and my Barron's CCRN book as a refresher on cardiac , cardiac medications, and hemodynamics. Honestly, AACN CMC test questions were great. Repetition and reading the rationals really embedded the material in my brain. Also, I found lots of the similar questions on the exam just framed a bit different. Hope this helps and good luck if you plan to pursue the certification.
