So I passed NCLEX almost a month ago but my license still hasn’t posted. I live in CA but took it as Minnesota board so it’s a MN license. Is it normal to be this long? I know that they recently just added the fingerprinting background check but back then, people would see that they passed on pearson website with their license posting immediately after that…

All you did was take the NCLEX. Pearson Vue has your exam results but they don’t issue your nursing license. Each state has its own Board of Nursing and licensure requirements. In order to have the license post in California, you have to apply to the CA BRN and pay the licensure fee. California requires Livescan fingerprints so you have to do those to get licensed in CA. I teach senior term nursing students and we discuss this completely in their final term in school. Hope this helps.

I'm a little confused I admit. I assume there was a reason you tested for Minnesota despite living in California. Are you planning to move there? If so do you already a have a job lined up that you are just waiting on that license for?
Anyway, once you pass the NCLEX Pearson Vue submits the result to the state you tested for and it is then in the hands of that states BON to issue the license and Minnesota isn't typically that slow so I would reach out to the BON there to see what the issue is so you can work on getting it corrected ASAP.
My license posted already. Took almost a whole month to. I took it as MN boards because endorsing it would take a long time (heard it can take 3months or so…) but wanted to get the exam out of the way first. Also wasn’t sure if my credentials will meet CA’s standards and did not want to run the risk of it taking too long and me forgetting fresh info for testing. I am originally from MN and plan to practice in CA.
Fingerprinting in MN is new (ofc not in CA) so all that needed to clear before license would post online. Last yr, some friends and fam I know that took NCLEX in MN had their license posted shortly after they passed.

Wow, I have heard some stories about the CA BON but gheez, is it really so bad that California graduates will test for a different state and then endorse their license back to California?

No, it's not. A lot of it depends on the school you are attending and how fast they are in submitting all the information about their graduates to the CA BON. Some nursing schools take their sweet time. Others are on top of it.
To give you an example, I know somebody who in mid-December 2021 graduated. The cohort was told to start filling out the CA BON online form for licensure around the second week of December so they could get the ball rolling (get fingerprinted, etc.). Around January 10, after the Winter semester break, the school submitted all the paperwork for the entire cohort to the CA BON. January 14, the ATT was granted. There was one student who found a date very quickly and scheduled for testing around the 21st or 22nd of January. Their license was posted two days later on the CA BON website. In this scenario, counting the instructions at the beginning of December to fill out the online form, you could say it took a little over the month to get to the point of being able to register for the NCLEX . Not bad, in my opinion.

I wrote my NCLEX in Nov 2022, and passed it at one sitting. I got the quick result, but unfortunately nysbn refused to send my license, claiming my school in NJ is under review. I called njsbn and they claimed they do not have any report against the school. We went to school, clinicsls, exit and all...my classmates thst wrote exam before me are all working in nyc. Presently, the school is open and receiving new students. No idea what to do next. Can I get any good lawyer to fight this, or should I just wait?

What school did you graduate from? I thought there was a NJ school that had the same name as one of the fake Florida schools. But, I thought that issue was resolved.
Merit Technical Institute. No one is telling what's going on cos the school isn't an online school. All students attended in person...
Call the school and see if they know anything about it. If they don't, have them call the BON to determine what the issue is. It is the school's responsibility to ensure that their graduates are qualified to be licensed.
