Hey guys, I just turned in my application for PCC today and I wanted to start a thread to see who else applied. Share stats, questions, etc... on here :)
I did call this morning too and the woman I spoke to said that they will start notifying students any day now and for the next few weeks. She was a little vague and said if we don't hear back via email by the 23rd then to give them a call í ½í¹ I guess it may be more of a waiting game....
I also have 80+ points. I have not received an email. I personally know a guy that applied last year with a 74 and put on wait list last cycle, and hear that there was a cutoff around 76~. Honestly, I think because they changed the selection criteria and point system from last cycle, you can't really use last cycle point to see where you're at. It also seems that they aren't done with the selection process and are kind of just stalling for time? I know a few students applying with points in the 90s, so I assume they will be automatically accepted, but also have not received anything yet.

Some people think that the students are selected at random sometimes. It's not based purely on points. You have to fit certain criteria for them to select you. What are the criteria? I'm not too sure, but it seems like they like to choose students that have high points, clinical experience, from PCC, or low income/difficult upbringing/etc. A student doesn't necessarily have to fall into all these to be selected, but it seems like current RN students fall into at least one of these categories.

Yeah, the Last cycle they do put those things into consideration in terms of points. It was only a few points each, like 3 points. PCC has been a point system for a while now and IS NOT a lottery system anymore. Those things you mention, clinical experience/low income/difficult upbringing, last cycle you have had to provide proof/and documentation to get the 4/5 points. The website has the clear break down of the point system, which includes the extra difficulties, which they stated everyone would get the 3 points.
Hi everyone, new to this sub. I applied for fall 2018 with 73 points. I emailed them with a bunch of questions and was told I should hear between July 16-20. Im checking my email about every 30 minutes as I'm sure most of you are. I applied at Rio Hondo College as well and they didn't even send a rejection letter. i had to call and find out I wasn't accepted. Good luck to everyone.
