Pasadena City College LVN 2021

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi, just wanted to see who else applied. Also we don't have to take the TEAS test, the health science lady said that the info on pcc's website about lvn students having to pass the TEAS once they get accepted is incorrect and she will fix it. Anyways who else is waiting it out until June or whatever when we'll know ?

Hi,

have you heard back from the program? I received an email stating I'm an alternate for the program.

Awwww bummer...best of luck in your applications. It’s so hard to get into any program, nowadays ?

For the lvn program, I know you need your CNA certification but do they base accepting students on the grades of anatomy, physio, developmental psych, & nutrition?

I got a C in anatomy& nutrition, B in physio, A in psych. What are my chances??

Hi Lynlyn,

I'm an alternate for the fall 2021. My stats are all A's except for Physio, I got a C. Honestly, I think you have a better chance if you retake your courses. I've been told several times that a C in a science course doesn't look well when applying to nursing schools.

Ahhh I don’t think I can tho since it’s a passing ? I’m so bummed out I didn’t pass my TEAS first time for so I’m thinking of going to Acc’s lvn program

Hi Lynlyn,

If you can, try taking it at another school. That's what I did. Are you talking about American Career College? I looked into them, I thought it was too expensive for me. Have you heard of Downey Adult School? They offer an LVN program and its a lot cheaper than ACC. They don't require the TEAS or any classes. You just need your high school diploma. There's a process to get into the program, if you're interested.

Oh I see. But wouldn’t nursing programs accept only the first grade (passing) you get on the science classes? Yea American career college, it is expensive but it’s pretty close to me. And no I haven’t heard of Downey adult school it’s too far for me! Have you also heard about CES college in Burbank for their lvn program?

Yes, you're right. Most schools only accept the first grade or only allow you to repeat one course. Pasadena allows you to repeat courses. No, I haven't heard of CES college, I will look into them. Thank you. Look into adult schools, perhaps there is an adult school nearby you that offers an lvn program.
