Hey, guys.
I'm planning on applying for the ADN program for Fall 2019. I went to the PCC nursing website and it states that students are required to take physical activity (2 units). I took a physical activity class which was only a 1 unit class. Do I need to take another activity class? Is it really required? Please help!

You should call. My friend hadn’t received a response either and when he called they told him they didn’t review his application because he was supposedly missing a PE course. He did in fact have both PE a requirements and it was a mistake on their part so they apologized and added him to the alternate list. He eventually got accepted.

Omg seriously? Good for your friend! But wait, I saw on the website that only the minimum needed to apply was English, Micro, Chem, and A&P. The others, like PE, were only additional courses that needed to be completed before you graduate from the program. I am still missing 1 unit of PE so I’m hoping that’s not the reason my application isn’t getting reviewed.

Yeah I know but that’s what they told him. Maybe they prioritize those that finish those courses? I’m not sure, but I think you should still call and ask.
I have applied to pcc's nursing program 3 times in a row, the first 2 times i was an alternate. I haven't heard from them yet so I'm assuming my application was denied. I applied this year to Cerritos and was accepted for the fall. I have a 3.0 in my science prereqs, 3.5 overall, and a 90% on my teas, so not the most competitive stats for nursing. When I went to speak to a counselor at PCC, they looked at my transcripts and straight up told me i should look into another career path and that i shouldn't waste my time. I was completely put down with no words of encouragement from PCC's nursing counselor. This message is to those who do not have the perfect stats but are passionate to become a nurse, if I can do it, you can do it. And also.... screw Pcc lol

If those are not competitive stats then I should just give up nursing overall lol. I still can’t believe they said that to you though! Anyways, congratulations on getting accepted to Cerritos for fall.

I’m with ya. I’m basically in the same situation here, with a little higher gpa and science GPA, but a lower TEAS score. I never was told that I wasn’t good enough for them, but I am happy that I pursued other options this semester. It worked out for me as well.
Good luck to you at Cerritos. Keep working hard!
