Parkland Summer 2015 Internship

Published

Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else applied to Parkland's summer internship. I haven't heard anything, still patiently waiting.

Do you only get the dosage calculation if you get an offer or if you are moving forward in the process?

Also, for those with interviews are you guys ADN or BSN and do you have previous hospital work exp?

WinterPineapple,

I believe that those who interview have to take the dosage calculation exam- it has to be completed prior to when they make their decisions.

Regarding your ADN/BSN question, it's my understanding that a BSN is required for this residency program, although there are other positions and residencies open for Parkland that do not require BSN's. I am finishing a BSN and am working as an ER tech/telemetry tech in a hospital.

Thank you for the prompt reply! :)

I applied to many new grad programs and am trying to stay updated on the process.

No problem! Have you been called for an interview?

No, I just submitted my application a couple of days ago. I'm getting a little worried that I'm too late in the game

Have you applied for the ICU specific residencies? Like the NNICU or SICU? They are little different since you only work on one unit, but they are another good option.

I did. I applied to NNICU and labor and delivery. Not giving up yet :)

Good! They recommend you apply to several residencies just in case.

Are you still referring to the Critical Care and Trauma Internship? The application packet said the deadline was March 17. But most of the residency programs are still posted.

I also applied to the SICU and MICU residencies which I have not heard anything yet.

The deadline was March 17th for CCTNIP, but they recommended turning in the application early. I don't know if it's the same for the ICU residencies.

is the Critical Care Trauma Internship include ER? Or is that a separate residency?
