Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else applied to Parkland's summer internship. I haven't heard anything, still patiently waiting.
How do the ER Residencies differ from the CCTNIP?
This thread was mainly for the Critical Care and Trauma Internship that starts every August. This internship is only for new BSN grads that rotates through all the ICU's and the ER/trauma units. It is an 8 month program. The residencies are completely separate programs. So for example, the ER residency is ONLY for the ER, the SICU residency is ONLY for surgical ICU. These residencies are typically 4-5 months I believe.
Did you end up getting this job? Do you like it? I was thinking of applying to this position
Hi, yes I did end up getting an offer and accepting a position in the internship. I believe it was the best experience a new ICU nurse can have in the DFW area as far as education, support from staff, and exposure to many types of things you will encounter in the icu. It is not a normal new grad internship. It's hard....some days really hard. There's 100+ question essay tests, final exams, oral exam, and in depth patho that you must know. But the program is run by the best of the best and it is worth it for sure. Anyone lucky enough to get an offer knows that they are truly part of a special group of nurses. Deadline to apply is typically in beginning to mid March and they offer the program once a year starting in August.

I did not apply to the critical care residency but I have applied to many others. I finally got an email from one of my applications for a September nurse residency saying my application has been forwarded to a hiring manager. Anyone else apply for that one and get the same email? Really hoping for a chance at this but have not heard anything else and today it has been one week.
