Parkland Residency Summer 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone!

I created this thread for those who are interested or applying to the residency program at Parkland for the summer 2020. I'm hoping this thread is helpful for those wanting to talk and ask questions. Good luck to everyone!

Mine changed today too. Did you apply right when the application opened? It could just be the timing.

I applied Monday night when it opened. So not right away, but the same day so pretty close.

Mine changed today too

Anyone hear back from 13 hospitalist B floor yet after interviewing?

I just heard back from them today but I'm declining the offer since I already accepted an the one for surgical specialties.

I applied the day it opened and my status hasn’t changed yet either!

Not sure, but my app status changed to "we are currently reviewing all applications", so maybe they are working on selecting people for interviews already.

Mine changed a few days ago but I applied for the Fellow so that may be different. I tried to go in and edit my license info in my app and noticed that I am no longer able to edit anything, whereas on Monday I could. Does anyone know what that means?

Hopefully they just haven't gotten to our applications yet, but they will soon!

Oh, interesting! How is a fellow position different? Do you have previous experience?

That could be it. I applied basically right when the app opened, so it was probably one of the first ones.

Yes. It’s for nurses with previous experience. I have 1 year in med surge. I applied to the residency too though because I wasn’t sure which one I would be a better candidate for.

I also meant to tell you that I no longer have the option to edit my app either. Maybe it goes away when your status changes.

Oh OK interesting! Well hopefully that means they are moving things along!

I’m wondering, though, for those of us who end up getting interviews... will they be in person or digital? Anyone know if they have changed any policies since CoVID-19?

I can’t edit my application anymore but my status hasn’t changed yet

I know a lot of hospitals have started doing phone or digital interviews, but I haven’t heard anything about parkland changing that, yet. I’ll be curious to know if they do!

My status changed this morning to reviewing all apps
