I created this thread for those who applied to the Parkland Dallas Nurse Residency program for this upcoming February 2023 cohort. Feel free to ask questions, advice and share your experiences!
Good luck to us all!

@lmib2 - Congrats! I can't wait to meet you. Please let me know if you have any questions on the interview process for the OR path at Parkland. I completed the residency and received a full-time offer after to scrub in the trauma O.R.

Thank you, but that’s just the first step. I have to get offered the job next, haha! I applied for everything ICU, but the recruiter called and scheduled a time with me for neuro. I’m suppose to receive an e-mail for the WebX link, I believe, but I haven’t gotten it yet. I wonder if she’ll send that closer to the interview time.
Has anyone heard back from L&D? I interviewed on Monday but haven't heard anything.

Congratulations! Would you mind sharing how much they offered you in terms of pay? I am trying to compare Parklands salary/benefits/bonus to the L&D offer I got at another hospital
Just now, NursingTx2022 said:Hey y'all. Im stuck between Texas Health Dallas and Parkland. THR has a 15 month contract. Parkland has an 18 month contract. Base pay is the same with Parkland offering a sign-on bonus. IDK which to accept.
Do you mind sharing the pay/bonus? The contracts are pretty similar. Can you tour/shadow before you decide?

$30/hour each
@THR you request the days you want to work and they schedule you based on the needs after you complete orientation, orientation is 22 weeks, shift diffs are $3.50-10.00, 15 month contract
$5000 sign on bonus for Parkland
@ Parkland you work every other weekend and the days of the week you work are set for 2 years, orientation is 20 weeks, IDK shift diffs, 18 month contract
Does anyone know how frequently either hospital gets raises or Parkland's shift diffs?
