*Hey guys! Just wondering if any of you new grads/rns trying to break into a new specialty who have been interviewing for the June 2012 Parkland Residency have heard any news? I know there is a zillion applicants interviewing and I wanna see if anyone has heard anything...also if my dream comes true and I'm selected to make some new friends as I am new to texas and have had 2 interviews for the Residency thus far and would love to connect with my fellow nurses here! I have interviewed for 2 different spots and I know they said it would take a couple weeks or possibly till April to hear anything..I am on pins and needles! Lets keep eachother posted :)! Good luck to everyone!
Also, I had a quick question- what other hospitals are you applying to? I just moved here from San Diego and so far have applied to Seton, St. Davids, Scott and White, East Tyler Medical Center, UT Galveston, Texas Health, Baylor, and Parkland. Are there any other you would recommend? Thank you so much!
I'm down in Houston, around here Methodist, St. Lukes, and M.D. Anderson are the big ones, they do require you to have a B.S.N. though, where did you find information for the UT Galveston residency? I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find anything.

I do have a BA, BSN and half of my MSN done. I think UT Gavleston is closed now. I was only only to find one nurse intern position two weeks ago for the ED. Btw, if you are in Houston I also applied to Ben Taub General Hospital and they have a Trauma 1 ED. That one is open until the March 28th I believe. Do you know of any in Dallas or Austin as that is where I am really trying to go!!!! Thanks again :)
I was able to attach a cover letter, resume, references, and transcripts. I believe you have to attach two reference letters. Log back in after you apply and then scroll to see a summary of your submission and at the bottom it says add attachments. Add them there and be sure to add two letters of recommendation. I had to add my extra attachments after I applied. Respond if you can't find it and I can help you out step-by-step.

What residencies did you interview for? And what was your background like (BSN, ACLS, etc)? I am just trying to see what they want. I did get a call for an interview for the critical care and trauma internship! Good luck with your interviews and keep us posted!!!!

Shannon Nicole, were you able to edit your applications after you submitted them? I saw how you can log back in ad attach documents (letters of recommendation, cover letters, etc.) but I was not able to log back in and edit the actual submission, any ideas?
No, the paper application is only for the Nurse Internship Program, and it's already off of the website. The NIP is different from the residency...and it starts in August. You have to apply both online and in paper for that program. As far as the residencies, I heard from some friends that the ED is sending emails to schedule interviews. I have my NIP interview this coming Tuesday, and went to the GN Open House and they had a sign up sheet for SICU, so I have an interview for them next Wed. Good luck, all!
