Has anyone applied to the fall residency? I applied but haven't heard anything either way, however I noticed some new listings within the past few days that say they start October 2013 (I was under the impression it started in September.)
I called and left a message with one of the recruiters, but now i'm wondering if they pushed the start date back because of the government survey. If they didn't pass they probably wouldn't have hired a bunch of new nurses.

Keep your spirits up, there are MICU, NeonatalICU, and Burn ICU resident postings still active on parkland's website, and very good luck with ER interviews.
Tips....personally I have never prepared so hard for an interview like this one, coz of a disappointing recent rejection from another ICU position that wud have been 120 miles drive for me per day anyway
I had all the basic answers on tips like strengths, weaknesses, few scenarios, hardest pt. from past experience, why parkland, why SICU, future plans, etc.
This was also very helpful: index read the "bedside emergencies" for frequent scenarios. I own this in printed version and read it frequently to brush up.

I got an email saying I'm an alternate. I think that the fact that I was not enthusiastic about the contract or having to start from square one regarding patient care may have come across during my interview. Just wasn't meant to be! Congrats to those who got it!
I worked as Psyc Nurse for 6months and I have 10 years of pca and phlebotomy experience. I"m currently in the ADN-BSN program at UTA. I'm so nervous I hope this helps my chances for the ER.
Hi sorry I'm responding so late.No, I got a email on 8/30 stating I had applied for the Er Nurse Residency and asked if I was sill interested. I had to respond by 9/3. I got the congratulations email on 9/12 stating I was chosen to interview.
