Parkland Fall 2013 Residency

Published

Has anyone applied to the fall residency? I applied but haven't heard anything either way, however I noticed some new listings within the past few days that say they start October 2013 (I was under the impression it started in September.)

I called and left a message with one of the recruiters, but now i'm wondering if they pushed the start date back because of the government survey. If they didn't pass they probably wouldn't have hired a bunch of new nurses.

Anyone that's applied heard anything yet?

How long before starting did they have the "official" offers ready? I'm surprised the contracts take that long!

You'll get a phone call telling you you're in the residency and everything you need to complete before your start date (NCLEX, physical, immunizations, etc). You then show up at orientation on your first day and sign your "official" offer letter.

Specializes in NICU Nurse.
If it's anything like the NICU residency (which I completed earlier this year) then you won't sign your actual contract until a month or two after you've started.

How was the NICU residency? Getting into a NICU residency would be a dream for me! I am waiting for Parkland to post their February start residency applications so I can apply. Any tips for the interview process or tips for surviving the residency in general?

Yes how were nicu interviews and how soon afterwards did you get the offer?

I am so sorry, I haven't logged on in a while... I am glad to hear everything is good. haha Parkland seems to be very inconsistent... don't worry about it.

I am starting to get kind of nervous because of the move, the difficult nature of the job, and the stress with all of the changes that are going to be happening pretty soon..

Specializes in ICU, step down, dialysis.

Have you received the 72 hour form? I just sent that in this morning,... not really much of a big deal just make sure you are in contact with the recruiter...

Which form is that? Is it the conflict of interest?

No after you send her the conflict of interest she should give you the '72 hour form'

It is a one page document that pretty much says that you are willing to work 72 hours in a two week period while getting the benefits of an 80 hour employee...etc

Thanks a lot just called her.... Ahhh man again thanks for your help feeling like a lost puppy haha

oh trust me you are probably not the only one.. She has a TON of applicants to keep track of

Has anyone interviewed or applied for the NNICU position?

I haven't sorry///
