Parkland Fall 2013 Residency

Published

Has anyone applied to the fall residency? I applied but haven't heard anything either way, however I noticed some new listings within the past few days that say they start October 2013 (I was under the impression it started in September.)

I called and left a message with one of the recruiters, but now i'm wondering if they pushed the start date back because of the government survey. If they didn't pass they probably wouldn't have hired a bunch of new nurses.

Anyone that's applied heard anything yet?

Hi everybody!

Ahhh I totally feel the same way! I put my two weeks into my jobs yesterday, such a weird feeling. This is going to be quite the exciting change. :) I am so ready to find out salary so that I can plan accordingly. I was told by a couple people that living a little outside Dallas is really nice too. Places like Las Colinas and Addision. I think it would be great to live in Dallas because of location but it is quite pricey. I recently found The Shores at Las Colinas and they are about 12 minutes away from the hospital and are around a lake! I am going to look into all the places so that I can make the best decision.

I am going to be going out there with my mom in a week or so to actually look at places in person

Thanks for sharing khollin757 I was hoping to get some sort of email today but nothing from Parkland yet? Did anyone receive anything? Please keep up updated with the apartment search please so I can try to get one as well.

A buddy of mine that was in this years summer ER Nurse Residency said that they start out at $24.52 (in addition to shift/weekend differentials as mentioned above), and she also mentioned that it goes up after the residency is over she just does not know by how much...However, she is currently a Nurse Resident and finishing up so there is no guarantee that it will increase. She said she will let me know once she is out.

I was actually on my second to last day of orientation for my other job when I received this job offer LOL!!! So I had no choice but to quit. Lost a little bit of sleep over it, but I am glad I got through it.

I am looking for a studio let me know if you find anything. Thanks!

Hi has anyone heard anything else from Parkland about the ER Residency

I accepted the offer for the ER residency yesterday. I currently live about 2 hours away from the hospital so hopefully I will find a studio or apartment soon.

Congrarulations megwalker88. I talked to the recruiter today I didn't get the job. I'm sad but not broken, I know God will open a door in the right place at the right time. Good luck to everyone

Open doors I truly understand your pain it seems so not fair when you put your all into it and it does not work out as planned. But know that it's Gods plan not ours and he will give you the best job that is for you in his time. Keep faith and that perfect job will come.

I am so sorry you didn't get the position. I would do anything to have the optimism that you do! :p
