Congrats @Catlady22! Are you also going for the ED? Can you give us a little info about your L&D background? I had a senior preceptorship in L&D and haven't heard anything.

I got a 'no' from the ED!

Does anybody know what the Hospitalist job that opened up is for? Med-Surg?

so they arent going to send more??

I just got an email for an interview in L&D this morning so I think they are still sorting through applications!

For those of you that will only have ADN/ASN women services is only interviewing BSN students. So I will moving on applying elsewhere. It's crazy to me that one piece of paper can define your worth to a company. The same nursing skills are taught whether you have bachelor's or associates. I am a LPN over 3 years. I currently work on a Medsurg unit starting IVs, hanging fluids, administering medications, wound care, prior authorization basically you name I do it. The only things I don't do is what is not within my scope which is IV pushes and administering blood. So it's crazy to me that my experience doesn't outweigh a piece of paper. Sorry needed to vent a little. However good luck to all of you guys. I know each and everyone of you will become great nurses.

I feel your pain. I have my ADN as well. But I definitely don't have the amount of experience that you have. I feel like the only reason I even got an interview for NICU was because of the employee referral that I had, but I could tell during the interview they probably wouldn't hire me because I don't have a BSN. If you don't mind me asking, who confirmed to you that they are only interviewing BSNs for women's services?
