I'm somewhat new to this forum. I applied to Parkland's MICU and SICU residency. I've already received the email saying my apps were forwarded to the hiring manager. I'm looking for any info on what the hiring process is like, far as, how long after receiving the email did you get an interview and also any info on how the residency works. My dream is either to get into the ED or one of the critical care areas. I know this would be a great opportunity to be employed at a Level I trauma center. Any advice, tips, connections and info would be greatly appreciated.
I am taking it Tuesday (first available). Yes, SICU. The staff I met were absolutely wonderful! I tried to privately message you, but apparently I haven't posted enough times to be allowed. What residency are you keeping your fingers crossed for? I am trying to stay positive as well. Have you interviewed yet? If not, check your email a lot lol.
Did the staff that interviewed you tell you when you should hear back from them? I am keeping my fingers crossed for the ER residency. I am staying hopeful but I know it is VERY competitive. I am just trying to stay positive at this point. I interviewed last week, so I guess we will see what happens. You have to make like 15 posts before they let you PM anybody, but if this post keeps going at this rate, you should have posted 15 times in no time!
HopingICU: you said exactly what I was thinking afterward, I should have asked more questions. Though for me at least, any information short of "You're in!" isn't enough and just fans the anxiousness lol!
The whole process is nerve wrenching to say the least and is probably the most competitive to get in which kinda stinks because its the place where you will be immersed in learning opportunities and EVERYDAY will be different. Hoping for the best for everyone and good luck! :)
I just took my medication exam . I hope people post when they hear anything from a recruiter. Anyone know where the SICU is at this time in the whole process?
What did you hear? I got a 100. Btw, I didn't see anyone there for interviews today. Doesn't mean there weren't any... When I went before, it was packed with people there for interviews.
Congrats on your grade! Well I heard that most of the selections for SICU have been made BUT DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT, that hear complete hear say from others playing the waiting game lol I am ready to know something...just so that I dont have to think and stress about it anymore!
