Hi all,
I'm somewhat new to this forum. I applied to Parkland's MICU and SICU residency. I've already received the email saying my apps were forwarded to the hiring manager. I'm looking for any info on what the hiring process is like, far as, how long after receiving the email did you get an interview and also any info on how the residency works. My dream is either to get into the ED or one of the critical care areas. I know this would be a great opportunity to be employed at a Level I trauma center. Any advice, tips, connections and info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I can't speak on all the other critical care are but I interviewed for the ER and the 7th-13th was the only days they were interviewing for that particular residency. But I'm waiting to hear back whether I got a spot or not. I'm hoping and praying I did because I really want to work in the ER. But good luck to everyone who reads or participates in this thread.
A friend of mine interviewed on Thursday after my interview on Tuesday. They already called her with a job offer on Friday.. meanwhile, I haven't heard anything back yet... I'm totally discouraged at this point because she only had a 24 hr wait period. I wonder if I got in... haven't got any emails or calls yet... I'm praying I get in... God help me !!!!
Yeah interviewed on Tuesday at 12 and haven't heard anything yet just that I'd hear by Thursday or Friday. Still staying hopeful at this point. I didn't know they would've been making them within 24 hrs but I'm not surprised by it at all kinda heard the same thing about someone getting and offer on Wednesday
Oh my gosh, I can't stop thinking about my interview. Do any of you know if they make offers before you take the Medication exam? I am not taking mine until next week, as I still have clinical and couldn't miss any more time. I have to drive from out of town again.... I hope not taking it when I interviewed doesn't hurt my chances.
Oh yes, I would have to relocate lol. It is about a 5 hour drive from where I live now. I really like what Parkland has to offer new grads. I would love to go there more than anywhere else. We don't have a trauma level 1 hospital residency program at any of our hospitals here. My best friend just moved to DFW for DO school, and I have some friends in the Dallas area too.

Hi all!
I just wanted to bump this, and keep up to date on when everyone starts getting offers. I interviewed for the SICU this week. I was told by a floor staff nurse they have three days they interview, and it they are full day events. I am not sure if this is accurate, as someone else posted that the residencies hold interviews from August 7-13. I am so excited, and trying not to go crazy thinking about it. I want a spot sooooo bad! Good luck guys
