I read about a trauma/critical care internship for new grads or grads at Parkland (7 months long, rotations in CCU, ICU, CVICU, ER, TRAUMA, Burn ICU). Has anyone here have any information for me about it, or know anyone that did it? I graduate school in a year, and am highly considering it. Your input really helps!
FIRSTdo you want to work at this big of a hospital and what are you use to doing and the clientale that you have work with you can learn alot at parkland but some time it can eat you up you will see stuff that you had only seen in books and you will learn more than you ever dreamed you could but it takes alot out of you. they take care of all burns that occurr in most of north tx they send very littlre out to other hospitals mostly peds but they go right down the hall literally next door is the med school also another hospital that the attendings admit to no ob or peds or er there is alot here and alot of fun but alot of responsibility also and yes i worked there

Hey Snowbiggie. . I am actually starting the critical care/trauma program at Parkland on Aug 8. I can keep you posted. I've heard that it isn't easy and it requires a lot of studying but the experience you gain is tremendous. . .they say you learn in 6 months what others learn in 2 years. . . I was inspired when I went to the interview. . . and am EXCITED to start!! (also, I am relocating there from Colorado but am from MN originally).
